Possible actually. Might be the shader water.
Guess I'll have to release a WON version without it, use the old version in the meantime.

I am. Working on a level right now, too. I'll have to change the trigger_set_camera when you release the new WON-compatible, though.

Damn, I fail. devil.dll should be in the Half-Life dir, not the hl2d one. Just move it if you already downloaded it.

Felix the third, please try this too so I'll see if Shader Water works in WON.

You know what bothers me? That you seem to master C++ programming. C++ looks like hitting random keys on your keyoard to me. :gak:

Don't worry, most of the stuff in C++ is just the API consisting of libraries to make your life easier. A language only has to be able to receive input, write output, basic mathematical functions ( + - / * MOD), loop code, compare (AND,OR,XOR,NOT), and store data in memory (Variables and objects), and create multiple threads to run different parallel processes. Everything else is just other classes which are used to simplify complex tasks.

Imho, you should add a topdown view multiplayer mode. Like that flash game stick arena. Then you might even create a community around the game on its own. :^_^:

I juts "re-installed" this and now every time I start the game, the whole screen is pitch black! I know the menu buttons are still there because I can put my mouse over it and hear the sounds but that's about all I can do... Help? -I'm using Steam HL

EDIT: Never mind... I just had to restart HL about 6 times.... -_-

So what if they're first? They're a lot of mods with the same idea. They're a lot of mods out there that includes 1 zombie that eats someone, he becomes zombie etc etc...for example! They're are two Firearms 2 mods for source. I don't see any of them stopping because of that.. Another example!

You should add side-view multiplayer imho. Add some power-ups aswell, to both side-view and topdown-view. Like 'extra dmg', 'immune to dmg shield', 'extra speed', 'transparent'. They would last 10-20 sec or something. It be quite entertaining to play flat-life on a server, that switches between side-view/topdown-view maps every 10 mins.

I can already see the promotion trailer..

I agree, who cares?!? Play it and learn from their mistakes, that is always the best way to make a mod. You should always strive to learn what works and what doesn't. A smart mapper does this too

That probably means that you're missing some secondary dll.

Make sure that devil.dll, cg.dll and cgGL.dll are present in your Half-Life directory and that fmod.dll is present in the hl2d directory.

Found a bug. I just made two good maps, they have a trigger_change level and landmarks in both of them set correctly. When i step into the trigger, it doesnt switch the map, but instead quits the game. + Gives No Errors.

If you're having problems with ladders and/or changelevels please leave them as they are. They will work in RC3 which will be out today or tommorow!

I don't like deadlines either. It's better to release something good than to release something in time.
In RC2 I think you forgot to remove/comment some parts out in the mp5 code.
When you reload you see a white text at the bottom right saying "Reloading...".

It's supposed to be there, actually. :P
There's no reload animation on the models so instead there's a text so you know when you're done reloading.

deadlines are a "I think I can" kinda thing... and for your audience its a "I hope it does." They're sometimes good, but taking your time for quality is more worth it.

OMG I'm a tard...

When I read the first page of this when it came out I thought it was for HL2 because of the title: "HL2D!"... After I saw questions about Flat-Life mapping in the HL Engine forum, I finally saw the light! : O

Downloading now.... = )

I always wanted to make a 8-bit Metroid or Super Mario Brothers recreation like this! I dicked around with trigger cameras and then the 3rd-person console command for Gordon, but gave up rather quickly.

The top-down idea pwns... I never even considered that one. Now I'm thinking 2-player coop like Ikari Warriors or Heavy Barrel, with Gordon and Barney! :nuts:

Switch in some NES textures and a Mario player model and you're good to go. =P
