Impressive stuff, Jaguar. Probably a little too Halo for my liking, though.

Spike: Looking great, I love it. Pirate treasure cave. <3

Fine, but don't give me those sad puppy eyes ever again! It's not much more then the big central room at the moment, but it's getting there.

Took 4 pain in the ass custom textures to get that lava, but I'm dang proud of it.

I already got those from Ant and PB on IRC, but I now convinced you to show everyone else LOL.
Looking awesome btw, makes me want to make another tf2 map after this one.
Speaking of mine, wip shots of new spawns etc if not today then next week :P.

Wow that's awesome, lava looks very realistic but at the same time very TF2-like.

BTW, do you see my pictures dark? I hate it because I see them ok at house, but now on university they are damn dark and I don't know how to solve them. Should I make my maps brighter so other people see it ok? Or should I leave it like that?
Posted 15 years ago2008-04-07 06:02:02 UTC Post #248534
they're really not dark at all for me. Don't think there's a need for them to be brightened
Posted 15 years ago2008-04-07 06:25:45 UTC Post #248535
Likewise, brightness seems fine.

Hey there,

just got registered here, but some of you guys may know me from somewhere else. Mostly DoD maybe :).

Well, these are a couple of screenshots from a DoD project I'm working on - it's supposed to replace the standard DOD_Anzio map on an upcoming map pack of mine.

I've only started it about a week ago, so it's absolutely WIP still. But I'm working on it like crazy, so it's making progress.

Very nice map. But it seems the palms doesn't fit with your skybox
Posted 15 years ago2008-04-07 08:57:00 UTC Post #248542
True, I've got a non-fitting scale.

Guess I'll have to look for diffretently scaled palm tree models somewhere... :|

Thanks for the feedback.
Posted 15 years ago2008-04-07 09:01:30 UTC Post #248543
nono, I'm not talking about the scale, I'm talking about you have a palm (tropical) and you're skybox is a mountain with snow, wich doesn't fit with a tropical palm

EDIT: don't know why the reply is repeated :S
Posted 15 years ago2008-04-07 11:17:08 UTC Post #248547
Ah, hehe.. gotcha :).

Well I've just been in northern italy and saw just that - palm trees, 22? and alpine mountains with snow on them in the background.

Figured that must have been close to the scenery in spring of 1945 which is when the setting takes place.

I'll try to rise the snow border though so it appears to be at ~1400, 1500 metres instead of 700 - 800.

Thanks again :).

Hmmm... is that a skybox above you, or did you actually construct a big dome around the area? It's looks a bit odd, I have to admit.

I started a new SvenCoop map series, well, I plan it to be something like 8 maps, but I dunno if it will be like that, here's some few screenshot, this is the first map, I started it yesterday, just finished the brushwork, its a bit empty by now, but I'll add stuff on it later, its 2:49 PM I'll sleep.

In this map will be only grunts I think, I'll plan a better gameplay tho.

Some old screenshots from the map I made for the Flat-Life compo (which I couldnt finish it properly) It was actually going to be a some kind of mini-mod with 6 maps. The player tries to sneak his way through in the first 2 maps then the action starts. There was also a boss I was planning (Metal-Slug style) for the final stage. Inspired by "1213". (if anyone still remembers that game)

Some more DoD stuff.

It's the city of Nuremberg in 1945 - I've sticked to the original city map of 1936, though I had to rescale the dimensions to make a DoD map out of this.

Also I've reduced the grade of destruction from 90% to 30%, because a flattened, gigantic diplacement pile of rubble002a or whatever won't satisfy aesthetic and gameplay desires I suppose ^^.

Finally I uploaded the video.I made the video because my friends didn't belive anybody can create videogame maps, so I pwned them so hard. It's first time I record a video from a game, so i don't know how to record the audio with fraps, that's why I've put a song instead of the game audio.

Custom models made by me.

Video shows first point of first stage, it's unfinished but almost done. Of course ways that conect 1rst point with 2nd point aren't done. Feedback would be apreciated

http://www.vimeo.com/928404

Video quality is ok, but not high. If you would want to download the video here's the download link: http://www.vimeo.com/download/video:56296805?e=1208885829&h=e9851b2426af95effec1fb79e03138d6

Looking good but a lot of work needs to be done on those tunnels. I only watched the whole vid cause the song kicks ass ;)

Your friends are dummies btw. Also if you used FRAPS you gotta tick RECORD SOUND in the options and then choose the device it uses to record...Sadly my PC sound card uses some gay thing so it can't record sound...Something about it not being PCI I think they said.

it doesnt have to be PCI... I had an onboard sound card on my AGP computer, sound worked fine... =O

It's the first RED(attacks) spawn of the first stage + first point. Do you think is too big for a map like dustbowl?
Posted 15 years ago2008-04-22 17:06:00 UTC Post #249072
No not really. Me and Moocow enjoyed Dustbowl :> If you haven't tested the size of it with other players maybe you should.
