Nice work Urby!

Archie, some people had mentioned possibly reducing time spent on each map. I'd agree on that as they start to get repetitive pretty fast.

Also, I used to be able to type "timeleft" and "nextmap" but it no longer works.

Wow, Awesome! Server has had players join all day yesterday for me.

Maybe you could try implementing what zerotech said in another forum.

Bhop Settings
Playable on 100fps
sv_airaccelerate 100
sv_maxspeed 10000
sv_gravity 800
sv_accelerate 10

You could try these settings and see if the player gains air control?

It's too hard imo to control the gauss jumps on maps like gauss_god and apartment without falling off the edge.

The transformation looks amazing. It shows a lot of progress in your understanding of lighting :P.

Btw, is it possible somehow to use something similar to smoothing groups in goldsource?

Archie that looks excellent. I get the feeling you're doing better than a decade ago :P

The light bridges from Portal look a bit odd though. Not necessarily because they seem to project a shadow onto the wall... from the light they're supposed to be emitting. That just adds to it.

Except that one time, before I'd downloaded all the maps, and it kicked me out because of that, and I couldn't be bothered downloading them, so yeah.

Yeah, I'm not really sure why I put them in, but I actually really like the overall ambient spill they're adding, and they definitely benefit gameplay. And yeah, no clue why they're casting shadows. They're func_walls :/

It is indeed. It's a light_spot casting through a SOLID rendermode texture with its HLRAD opacity set to opaque. The concrete texture is scaled to 0.50 which creates a higher resolution lightmap grid, and therefore more defined shadows. It also always helps to compile with Vluzacn's incredible tools which blend shadows much more realistically, as well as using a 3x bounce to really soften them.

About as close to The Core DM as it gets with those textures. It's looking pretty nice! :P

Needs, more dick lights to get the complete Core feel though.

Ah I see, that's quite a neat trick. No matter what I do though I can't seem to get the shadow to be as smooth and defined as in your screenshots, maybe you should make a tutorial or something on how to do this, I'm sure more people than me would find it interesting.

Did you generate a .res? I would have put it on the server with the map if you did, because I just upload the archives exactly as I download them.

I'm really looking forward to finally getting another proper mapping session on my Control sequel tonight. Work and social life have gotten in the way every day since I last showed progress on Monday. I got about 45 minutes on it last night, but absolutely nothing planned tonight so I'll hopefully finish it up.
