Wow! This is awesome. I've got the scripted voice acting done and... Just wow. It's so weird when you hear your own voice coming out of the mouth of a low-poly scientist NPC, even touch I lowered the pitch and speech rate to better fit the model, just wow! I've still got the use sentences and outro speech left, but anyway, it's cool and weird at the same time.

EDIT: My map is completely done now, with custom sentences and everything. I'm just going to pack it up, and then send it in.

EDIT 2: I'm done, and I've sent it in.

Also, what do you want to call your floor? There will be an index of the floors and their "administrators" in the lobby. :)

If I use a billion entities in my map, is it reasonable to assume that a changelevel can be put either side in the final build? I don't want to mess up anybody else's entity cap.

I'm going to be making an aerodynamics lab. I'm in the middle of making this:

A wind tunnel testing model of an SR-71 Blackbird. Next week I'm going to see if I'll be allowed to look around the aerodynamics lab at college to take photos of the wind tunnel equipment so that everything is as accurate as possible. I had a lab there last year but I don't think I have any photos to work from unfortunately.

Not at all! Literally one person has finished so far, and we've got until the 28th IIRC.
The very point of the engine Valve made in the first place, was to make creative stuff out of brushes.
Technically, the point of the engine was to make games. Making creative stuff out of brushes was not so much a choice, but rather adapting to the limitations of the engine to still crank out good detail.
There's certainly an art to using brushwork for things like that, but I think TJB's adding a few too many smooth angles and scaling the jet down a bit too far for it to be able to be properly represented by brushwork.

While we are using goldsource, it's 2015. If you have the know how and want to include some high poly models, that's fine. :)

I have skins for cs 1.6 and let me tell you, they look a lot better than the standard ones made from cardboard box material.

I still want to contribute to this but all my free time is going in to gamebanana's current cs competition with the gang.

The lobby has some leeway with the rules, as it's on the ground floor. The truck is sitting in a 64 unit deep bay. The exterior also extends out further than the 128 unit rule, in order to look like a ground floor. :P
is this still active?
Certainly seems to be.
Moved on to my actual floor for now.

I thought the ground floor would be equal to the chapter "Anamoulos Materials" from Half-Life. No combat, just some sightseeing and some scripted sequences to make the player feel good. :)

Nope. There is no "before the action kicks in" since every floor will be different and not necessarily action packed. There is no overarching story. Every floor is it's own isolated case.
Also, in what order will you place the levels?
Levels will be ordered in terms of gameplay style to keep things varied and then by difficulty. The exception being the basement that needs to come after the ground floor.
