I recently found out about an emulator hack that lets you play Goldeneye and Perfect Dark using keyboard and mouse controls, so I've taken the opportunity to finally try and beat both games on the hardest difficulty, something I've never been able to come close to on the N64.

...Even with the overpowerdness of having precise aiming and quick reaction times, 00 Agent and Perfect Agent are really difficult, especially towards the end of the game. Perfect Dark in particular ramps up the difficulty, with me having my first death in dataDyne Central: Extraction and having to redo Air Force One: Antiterrorism about 12 times.

So really what this proves is that there's no excuse to have bullet-spongey enemies ever. The game can still be challenging, even infuriatingly so, with guys who die after a couple hits.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I never truly beat Goldeneye or Perfect Dark at all on my cartridges - Never unlocked Egyptian through legit means, and I kept dying at the Skedar King boss battle, to say nothing of the secret missions in Perfect Dark.

I'm so sorry, I just can't help myself. XD
I don't hate my laptop, I don't like it either, I'm just happy that I didn't get anything worse, like an Intel GMA 950 + T2300 laptop with 1GB of RAM.

In fact, I'm going to play Crysis on it again. I'll somehow manage to install it, lol, and take a few screenshots for this thread, and show how much I don't really hate my laptop. :3

Let's see the frametimes, too:

So, we have 2, maybe 3 big lag-spikes.
The biggest one (lasting 14 seconds before the next frame) was when the game auto-saved. Probably my laptop's 5400rpm HDD, lol.

Most of the time, I had 6 to 7fps, so that's a good result considering my laptop's age.
At least it's better than what I get in CS:GO. In CS:GO, I got 3 to 4fps. :P

Well, I have no idea how it feels to play at 7 fps, because I get 45-50 fps in UT4 on lowest settings.
Oh, wait. I remember how I launched S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl on my old laptop a long ago. the average framerate was 2-5 fps.

That opinion about Crysis' graphics gets formed when you play it way after its release. It was so good in 2007. :]
But then, CoD4:MW1 also had good graphics, yet it was released in 2007. :P
(but it wasn't even close to Crysis xd)

About fun gameplay over graphics, well, I completely agree.
Sadly, I can't have either because of my GPU. XDDD

I did play it in 2007. It may have been impressive to look at back then, but it's always been a dull ass game. :P

Fallout 3 was out within a year and while it certainly wasn't graphically ground breaking and was downright ugly in places, I've logged literally hundreds of hours over the five or so I spent in Crysis.

... then I'll play it, just for the sake of being able to make that stuff in it. It looks like that I only stick to games I can mod, in this particular way.
I don't play games for playing them. I play games to test my maps, as I had said earlier. Most of my hours in CS 1.6 are because of mapping, as well as in Sven Co-op. The same will go for TF2, CS:S etc. and pretty much any game I'll make maps for in the future.

Lastly, and I'm most certain about this:
I like games from specific genres. FPS and racing. Well, it's been FPS-only lately. So, yeah, if it has quick movements, weapons, a first-person view etc. then I'll play it.
I also have a specific taste in games. I like it modern and/or mildly futuristic like Crysis.

Of course, there are 2 honourable exceptions: Grand Theft Auto and Sumotori Dreams.
They just... they just stand out so much that I like them even though I'll never mod them. :]

I bounced hard off of Dark Souls the first time I tried to play it, but quite the opposite the second time. It's definitely worth trying, at the very least, because it is a great game.
Depending on how you play, you may want to just look up what the various stats are so forth are, though. I feel like part of why I bounced off of it the first time was because I didn't know anything about the stats, and they don't really tell you in-game; you're expected to parse it yourself. (But there's pretty thorough resources out there these days.)

In other words, yes. Play Dark Souls.

My wife, Mrs.Morris. Where I roleplay myself as a stealthy sniper, I play my wife as quite the opposite. Serving with the Brotherhood of Steel, she makes little time for anyone but her brothers and sisters in arms. Follows orders without question and vaporises enemies with laser/plasma weapons.

Ditto, sans helmet. :P

I really must make a 100% evil character. I'd likely make them very high charisma so that they can talk their way in and out of anything. I'm thinking melee/stealth focused, stealing what is needed to survive and slicing up anyone who notices. Hehe... yeah. Gonna need to do that now. :badass:

Done the awful mistake of purchasing it in the middle of revision season - the combination of very quick matchmaking, game finding + very, very fulfilling gameplay is giving me a very good idea of what taking crack may be like.
