That's fine. Make sure your custom WAD has a unique name so we dont get naming conflicts in our game folders.

Such a great idea is floating around in my head. But i've yet to begin because I have a cliffside observatory due monday, have to fix the brakes on my car, am trying to build a tree deck before the cold season and have other classes to pass along with work.

Well I have mapped my observatory and used some of the textures from the competition. It's a really nice map but the screen shots show the imperfections like blockish curves. I'm actually using screenshots edited through photoshop as part of a presentation of my project in school. Sadly it is time for me to begin focusing more on a highly graphical rendering program like 3ds max or something. I will never quit mapping with gold though unless it is replaced by a program that does the same and more. Well perhaps i'll begin poking more at source while i'm at it.

I want so badly to give hints to my idea but i'm not even sure i'll have time to do it. Sigh... :heartbreak:

My map makes no sense, how do you combine futuristic with industrial with sand and mining? In theory it works, in practice who knows.

I'm feeling your pain dude-man. Vertex manupollution FTW but my fingers and eyes are bleeding.

Shit always gives them Leaf saw errors and longer compile time (I know there are ways to avoid this but I'm lazy).

There's absolutely nothing to improvise with though. There isn't any good lights that look basic enough to be the base of a button

I don't know how but my desert complex theme somehow changed to a castle theme just now. Maybe cause I was listening to golden axe 2 theme music.

Instant Mix: Twister will convert a Source displacement VMF into a Goldsource MAP file. No guarantees on how well it actually works, though :P

So... I finally figured out what I want to do, and now the SDK is broken...at least most people can still open it, I can't even start the thing up :/

Broken Hammer is still broken...as such, it is now the longest running broken tool ever! :walter:

i just put in 4 hours of legit development into an EP2 map for the compo. Hammer is ANNOYING but by no means is it unusable.

I've been reading that some XP users can't get it working at all.

If Valve don't fix this anytime soon, I might look at extending the competition for a short while. Maybe let Source users get their entries in a few days later, we'll see. Depends on how long it takes Valve to pull their finger out.

vrad.exe halts at 0% Cpu yet again. I can not blame anymore my steam installation, or perform a windows reinstall. I've already done this in the past and it was the same. After some point of complexity vrad or sometimes even vvis simply refuses to compile. Source was optimized from the start for outdoor maps( in opposition with goldsource), and my map isn't even messy at this point.

This is annoying and makes me stop wanting to participate in this competition and secret santa :(.

I'll see what I can do.
