I gotta say Archie, you've outdone yourself with this 2014 revamp of your classic. I haven't had a decent length game on it yet but it seems to retain the crazy fast paced action in the hallways with the conventional firearms , as well as the contrasting open combat in the main arena with the RPG, Crossbow and Gauss. Extremely well done, especially for 4 days work.
However, the light bridges. I guess you need to get murdered or something... yeah...

Thanks guys. I actually wrote this over a year ago and I just found it again today. I probably could have done with a proof read first but I was at work so I couldn't really.

Nope. Playing F:NV at the moment too. Running the latest version and graphics card drivers. It's crapped out once when entering a new area but that's it.

I recommend blender. Free, open source, fully documented and tutorialised online.
Used it to make some very basic models for The Core. It's quick to learn and I would no doubt be using it for more complex models were it not for me being a giant, ham-fisted, man baby.

Archie has often taken inspiration from real world locations for his maps and has really outdone himself with the last room. It is identical to his bedroom in real life! Bravo.

After being knocked unconscious with a fire axe last night I started playing again this evening and woke up dead. Started at the beach.
Managed to scramble my way through the wilderness to Electrogorsk where I raided a firestation and a supermarket for food, water and fire extinguishers. Also now fulled decked out in black combat gear and a motorcycle helmet which looks pretty sweet. Pity my character is currently brandishing a fire extinguisher as his primary weapon...

Well then, get this. Played with Archie last night. He managed to glitch onto a roof, then broke both his legs getting down. We searched for a hospital when I headed into a building and got brained by a player, leaving me unconcious.
Archie meanwhile, found a hospital, crawled into a doctors office and gulped down a refreshing bottle of disinfectant. He was free of infection, but got pretty sick pretty fast and was almost blind by the end, puking every few minutes and unable to keep any food he found down.

@Dimbark, watch videos. Zombies are massively improved. They can clip through most things at the moment, but their pathfinding is so much better. Also, I'm a sucker for customisation and although it's currently limited to skin colour, shirt colour and shoes at the start, you can wear whatever you find when playing. Earlier I was running around with sunglasses under one of the PAYDAY masks under an army helmet. Then a zombie smashed them all off my face.
@Tetsu0, it is a bit good. Second session was on a different server but you rejoin in the place where you logged out regardless. I was going through cars, searching for stuff on the seats when I realised a player was going through my backpack. Span around and cocked my rifle, but he was unarmed and did a runner. Would have shot him if I wasn't bluffing with the gun. Bloody thing was empty.

I say more fool MS for not selling older OS versions for a reduced price under difference T&Cs. Just gonna make people go all peg-legs and eye-patches on their shit.
Got me a Windows 7 disc though so I'm just going to hold onto that forever.

I don't know about performance benefits or anything like that, but I intend to completely avoid Windows 8 because I hate the chunky touch UI. Keep that ugly shit on phones and tablets. I have a mouse.
Sure you can switch to the standard desktop but... you know. I don't need to do that on Windows 7.
Also, in terms of user friendliness, the first review I saw called it the first user-hostile OS. Yeah, fuck Windows Hate.

Not sure of the full details since I just followed the advise I found online, but it basically came down to removing the line LanmanWorkstation and adding LanmanServer. It's way beyond my understanding but it worked so I'm happy.
The reason I got irritated is because this issue seems to date back to much older versions of Windows and it's still causing problems. MS need to sort their shit.

I backup anything I work on via SVN now. Assembla offer free hosting for files up to 500mb, then they charge through the nose. Otherwise, if you don't mind paying for it, use repositoryhosting.com. I pay £3.50 a month for 2gb with them.

I wasn't going to make the Vaas comparison but someone else already did so I'm just going to smile and nod.
Oh bollocks! I fucked up again!

Merry Christmas Andy.

Otherwise I'll go Linux.

@StojkeK I never said I paid for it. I just think it's ridiculous that they charge so much. My copy of Win7 Pro came pre-installed on my gaming rig.
Anywho, fixed it. The LanmanServer service wasn't starting properly and was holding all the other services up behind it. RedEdited that mother fucker.
I used to love Battlezone 1 on the PC.
Of course then it wasn't really large scale, but todays technology could easily handle it.
@CStriker: I do not.
"You've spent money you don't have! As a punishment, we're going to charge you more money."
That sucks though Rim.
