To make fog place many smoke sprits near the end of the level and create an Env_Fade. Now the biggest problem is to turn of the Env_fade when you enter this rock, to do so look at slayerA's example map, stay open door.

Um.. Im working on effects like fog and rain. It's just a matter of time and learning how to use them.The map is completed, but its not complete. i added a 3-d skybox to the level. its only water though.. There is a problem with the light_env im having.. but i'll get that sorted out soon.

Well, I don't have cs but from the scrinee I can see that the water are just ends there this is not good. You can create fog that will probibly fix the problem or make a realy big sea and that the sky texture will also have water on it, like the trainyard sky(it is a cs sky).

Good you have Hl1 I downloaded the map and I'll change it into Hl1 map, but first I shell sleep. I'll fix it in the morning.

Well I've played the map and here's my review:
-Some textures are badly aligned like some of the ladder textures
-Wooden crates containing some radioactive waste don't look too logical... I'd change em' into containers or somethin...
-The barrels have the same texture all over! Change the top texture coz it looks like CRAP...
-NO AMBIENCE... Try adding something like wind...
-The textures repeat too much.. Almost all of the castle walls have the same texture on them...
-Default sky... It doesn't fit the theme...
-It's de_park - isn't it? Add somethin like grass or trees...

+Pretty low r_speeds for such an open map. I am impressed.. :)
+Decent gameplay
In total I'd say that with some graphical tweaking it would become a quite good map... Make a de_park3! :)

you shouldnt call it de_rock, it sounds to much like The Rock (a movie and another name for alkatras)..! maybe you should call it de_island_rock is something

Ammm, well you can create your own texture or create a func_breakable that underneath it there is a texture of those broken TVs.

Well I got the idea of sharks from ts_bikini which had a shark sprite I think (the fin part) moving around.

In the configurations chose the configuration and the build program of half-life1(and of course open the map with that configuration)if there are little purple entities delete them and save as the map with diffrent name.

The compiling parameters for Hl1:

You are wrong, you can set the sky to not bounce grenades, though what makes me wonder is that a player would want to throw a nade over a rock.

Please change this map into a Hl1/Blue shift map so I can check what is wrong with it for I don't have Counter-Strike.

(For ones who want to help him but don't there is in the Hl1 forums under the thread Power Switch?? an explontion on how to do it)

I think, that if you make the skybox as you made it at the one in the middle of the screenshot, the map is more unrealistic,, I mean,
If you throw a granade over the wall, it comes back cuz it bounced on the sky.
But if you make a box, you can throw the granade where ever you want to throw it..

thx btw! I created them when I had boring and wanted to play on cs! The he_ramp map was created to test the speed, angle etc. etc. to create the longest... what shall I call it? nade-throw?

Btw, this map reminds me of making a short tutorial about the angular velocity on func_trains. Awesome thing.

Your map scared the crap out of me when i saw that piece of blue pipe coming towards me. Thank god i quicksafed at the beginning of the map. Lol
