You can't make the breakable invisible. Then it would have to be a func_wall_toggle, which can't be breakable.

@Vassy: I experimented with it being transparent and it really didn't look right.

@Coolfat: Not the entire ground, but whilst you are in that planet, yes, the whole ground is made of glass.

I wouldn't mind some ratings (as in stars, for all you stupid people :D )

And I forgot to mention to have a little look at the only custom texture in the map, which is of course the sign (which is in the screenie). You can't read it in the screenie, so when you're in game, have a look at it. I decided to add a bit of humour in there :D. In case you can't find it, its at the very start of the glass part.

Yeah, so comment and RATE! Although, don't rate without commenting because that would be unfair wouldn't it :D.

Be supportive! I hate people saying its 'piss poor' and stuff. Nothing deserves 1 star unless its an empty room with a player start or something.

Remember, we were all new once. How would you like it if you had just made a map which people just called 'piss poor' '1 star because I cant go lower' when you were new? You would be shattered, and dont try and lie saying you wouldnt be.

Keep mapping squrel! Just don't release anything for a while, until you know you have produced something real nice.

The HL engine doesn't like large open areas, so try to make a map with a number of detailed rooms with a good layout.

Take my comments into account if you can. And for everyone else, Lay off the guy! Jesus Christ....!

Plain indeed.

+Quite nice architecture
+Somewhat creative
+Scripting is nice
+-Camera Work. It worked well, but wouldve been better if you wouldve actually seen the grunts get killed, instead of the glass falling on top of the camera then seeing the dead grunts on the floor.
-Really not much to do, and very easy.
-Button isnt very obvious
-You can kill the grunts without pressing the button, which stuffs it up. (barneys pistol)

+Gameplay is nice, although a tad easy
+Texturing is fairly decent.
+Gotta love the flashlight
+-Architecture is at times great, and at times very blocky.
-Red is very very bright. I say dim the red lights, makes the place a bit darker, and more scary. Make them not so red as well, it looks.... un-natural.
-Monsters are set to scare people. IMO, there are times where they should be hid better. Monsters hid behind crates which I could see and just grenade to death are not scary.

I didn't notice any spelling errors in the Game_text Rabid..

Fun, a tad more tweaking should make this a great map.

I don't think its 5 stars Floater, look at the texturing. Although, it is a good map, or maybe i'm just blinded by the fact that it is decent and all the other maps lately have been utter crap :)

What I would like to know is, why is this only 2 stars. That means its worse than a whole shitload of crappy maps on this site. I mean rooooms has 3 stars, and all that is is a badly textured hollow box with a hostage....

I don't want to sound stuck up or anything, but I put a lot of effort into this map, and I really think it deserves more than two stars. And the fact that it has been rated 9 times with only 4 comments is just annoying. This site needs to be like Snarkpit, where you can only rate if you comment in my opinion.

Please come back when you have something worthy of us downloading :) . Next time, only include the BSP, and RMF or MAP if you wish. No need for all the other files.

My recomendation is to read the in the beginning tutorials, and search for some tutorials.

Ok, here goes nothing. I'm the guy who helped u last time.
1.Be patient while compiling, it takes a while. Watch TV, play playstation, do something to fill in the time
2.SKYBOXES ARE EVIL. DO NOT BOX YOUR MAP IN A MASSIVE HOLLOW BOX. THEY MAKE YOUR COMPILING REALLY LONG AND SHOCKING R_SPEEDS! LOOK UP THE CORRECT WAY ON GOOGLE!
3.Thats all I can tell from the screenie, its getting late here so I cbf downloading it, maybe 2morrow and I might be nice and fix it for you.

I also noticed those strange keybindings. Now onto the map. That was brilliant. :) Great Architecture, texturing and the great gameplay. I say ***. And i found your secret. hard to get to though... im not goin to say what it is but it really isnt much. definetly not a bazooka :P "you found my secret" (its not a secret room).lol great effort. ok... in the example maps part... this an example of some of the piece of shit maps people decide to put on this site. Please, stop posting stupid maps like this and make maps which are playable and do not consist of 2 rooms and a corridor which is the bomb target using only one texture the whole time. Even if you are a noob, please only put maps on that actually achieve a standard of being playable. Rating your map is bad, Rating your map 5 stars is worse, Rating your shit map 5 stars is the worst thing you could possibly do. Please do not do it again.

well.... a few things in reply supermario. chess boards dont get any bigger (its the same amount of squares as a chess board) so i couldnt really make it any bigger. about the improving - this is one of my old maps so i have improved a lot since then. and you (the players) are meant to be the pawns. and great idea about the pushables. might make knife_chess2 :P. thanks for the idea mate :D oh yeh thanks for the 4 stars as well (highest rating yet :D:D:D:D!!!!)

thanks for the comments. the architecture was inspired by the balins tomb movie. I think this map would be more enjoyable with quite a few people because when you are by yourself there is really no use for the healer (there is one in t base and the aim_map typeish part). i think this map is pretty good seems that this is my first attempt at good architecture and triggers and yes i know my layouts suck. i have never made a map with a good layout. I will try and improve this. Thanks for the constructive criticism. and yes worldcraft dude it is the knife on cs 1.6 - get used to it.
