And I forgot to mention to have a little look at the only custom texture in the map, which is of course the sign (which is in the screenie). You can't read it in the screenie, so when you're in game, have a look at it. I decided to add a bit of humour in there :D. In case you can't find it, its at the very start of the glass part.

Be supportive! I hate people saying its 'piss poor' and stuff. Nothing deserves 1 star unless its an empty room with a player start or something.
Remember, we were all new once. How would you like it if you had just made a map which people just called 'piss poor' '1 star because I cant go lower' when you were new? You would be shattered, and dont try and lie saying you wouldnt be.
Keep mapping squrel! Just don't release anything for a while, until you know you have produced something real nice.
The HL engine doesn't like large open areas, so try to make a map with a number of detailed rooms with a good layout.

It worked well, but wouldve been better if you wouldve actually seen the grunts get killed, instead of the glass falling on top of the camera then seeing the dead grunts on the floor. -Really not much to do, and very easy. -Button isnt very obvious -You can kill the grunts without pressing the button, which stuffs it up. What I would like to know is, why is this only 2 stars. That means its worse than a whole shitload of crappy maps on this site. I mean rooooms has 3 stars, and all that is is a badly textured hollow box with a hostage....
I don't want to sound stuck up or anything, but I put a lot of effort into this map, and I really think it deserves more than two stars. And the fact that it has been rated 9 times with only 4 comments is just annoying. This site needs to be like Snarkpit, where you can only rate if you comment in my opinion.

ok... in the example maps part... this an example of some of the piece of shit maps people decide to put on this site. Please, stop posting stupid maps like this and make maps which are playable and do not consist of 2 rooms and a corridor which is the bomb target using only one texture the whole time. Even if you are a noob, please only put maps on that actually achieve a standard of being playable. Rating your map is bad, Rating your map 5 stars is worse, Rating your shit map 5 stars is the worst thing you could possibly do. Please do not do it again.

well.... a few things in reply supermario. chess boards dont get any bigger (its the same amount of squares as a chess board) so i couldnt really make it any bigger. about the improving - this is one of my old maps so i have improved a lot since then. and you (the players) are meant to be the pawns. and great idea about the pushables. might make knife_chess2 :P. thanks for the idea mate oh yeh thanks for the 4 stars as well (highest rating yet :D:D:D:D!!!!)

thanks for the comments. the architecture was inspired by the balins tomb movie. I think this map would be more enjoyable with quite a few people because when you are by yourself there is really no use for the healer (there is one in t base and the aim_map typeish part). i think this map is pretty good seems that this is my first attempt at good architecture and triggers and yes i know my layouts suck. i have never made a map with a good layout. I will try and improve this. Thanks for the constructive criticism. and yes worldcraft dude it is the knife on cs 1.6 - get used to it.
@Coolfat: Not the entire ground, but whilst you are in that planet, yes, the whole ground is made of glass.

With a map like this you may have to resort to a skybox.
