The example provided is not mine and was part of a very old map. I don't use the triangle method very much myself. I think I have one map that uses it. I would much rather use displacements myself.
This is why I don't map for half-life 1 anymore. I admit that steam is a major pain but it is far better for me to use the half-life 2 (source) than gold source or half life 1.

Just because it has the same graphic style? There are many games with the same graphic style..
Unlike TF2 (not sure tho, please correct me if I'm wrong), this game can actually be handled by crappy old computers. Besides that, it's a great game to pick up and just play with your RL mates who either aren't real gamers or who don't have any Valve games..

Heh, yeah the doctor I had said that (with almost everybody that suffers this) short of having the surgery anything you do is, at best, a stall for it happening again. Which is better then nothing, I suppose.

Yeah, I've completely dislocated my kneecap twice. Once five years ago when I was only 12 and again about 5 weeks ago. Mine goes out and stays out until the leg is straightened out which is pretty much impossible to do without someone else doing it. It also hurts like hell.
Needed a knee brace and crutches for 3 weeks or so, and am now doing a shitload of intensive physio so it doesn't happen again. It probably will though, according to every doctor, surgeon and physio I've seen.

As far as leg injuries go, there's far worse, but it's still no fun. The patella slides out one way or another taking some cartlidge with it. Some fluids build up and the knee gets swollen and painful to bend (couple of days of painkiller/anti-inflammatory pills will do the trick).
For the lucky people (like me) the kneecap slides back in, for the unlucky people it stays out (Trapt did it a short while ago, he told me). If it gets really frequent and painful, there's surgery available to shorten tendons or somesuch.. bugger that.

Really neat, though i still haven't played oot thingie you gave me!
Some nice textures and buildings. I loved the treehouses and the big tree guy thingie. the trigger camera thinies in the tree shops are a pretty neat idea (are they teleports too? i see when you walk in noclipping nothing is there!) Good music and ambient sounds, which is always nice.
The first area could look better but i don't know exactly what's wrong with it besides to say it looks bland. Maybe more stark contrast with the tree textures to the environment or the other way around, or maybe just making it a little darker will do the trick. (I find bright maps personally hard to make the lighting look good, i think that's why mine are always pretty dark = ) ) It's also got to be tough in terms of resources because that area is so open and big.
Anyway, I can tell you put a lot of work into this, and it seems to me like a perfect entry for the compo. I'm sure after i play oot i will appreciate it much more. I'm going 5 stars for the obvious amount of work and time you put into it.

Sounds like it was fun. I've got something wrong with my kneecap, although I don't know what. All I know is that occasionally when I have to kneel down it feels like a tendon is being ripped out.

Ant: Easy indeed although the uncharted island where you have to hit the rocks has me stumped. I understand that the island is in the shape of the hints but the two at the back look the same...
Spike: I'm studying games design at East London. It's a mix of 2D / 3D, story writing, games document writing and stuff. It's an alright course.
Madcow: You had better! I wrote down lots of funny bits in DBZ for you to use and I have the eps in avi format.
Penguin: Yeah I was thinking of getting those sometime ^^

Zelda is ridiculously good. It's been added to my short list of favourite games ever. Only problem with it is that it's fairly easy, probably the easiest Zelda game ever. Still, it's fucking awesome!

6th may beta?
How?
Do you just click and play?
As you said freshed, it works well on older computers, so I might be able to run it on my laptop :>

DEFEAT.
Oh and all kinds of symbols, they rock!
Now show us everything you got!
also, its hard to texture terrain done this way correctly. setup the texturing when it is still flat THEN deform it, or you'll learn it the hardway.
