I think that along with the mod name, the title, the rating and the screenshot, the thumnnailed version of a map should have a difficulty rating, like in the tuturial vault.. it would work best with example maps but it would also help people who r lookin for a challenge

yeah func_illusionary is what it used for the halo effect (i use it for that anyways) but it is more commonly used for light shafts.. like if its a dark room with a hole in the top, you make a brush of yellow, stream it down the sirection the light is going and make a a func illusionary on texture - 50 and it looks good..

hey kevin, that map is stunning!
awsome work!

A few things,

o Texture alignment on the truck is all buggered.

o The gaurd tower's roof is reasonably detailed but the player will never see it.. reduce compile times by cutting it.

o im desperate to see behind that door! your use of lighting and architecture adds brilliant tension.

o You should make a seperate bit of tunnel for the journey and set it to a func_train like whats used in the opp4 intro.

o The lights are awsome.

o add some func illusionaries to make em even better.. maybe one from the gaurd tower..

And lord2k, your downloads page is unlinked. i cant see your work.

..lol, i did have entities, the first time i had compiled, there was a leak, and because i was still working on it i just surrounded it with the null texture - id sort it out later...

Anyways, i forgot to hollow it and that caused the problem.. sorry guys. :P

lol.. my school doesnt even let us on the intertnet unless its monitored. they have this networking software that basically means the server hubb controler PC (conventiently at the teacher's desk in the I.T lounge) has complete control over every single PC and can stop you in the middle of your work, move your mouse poiner and moniter EVERYTHING you do... tell me thats not perverted

Sounds cool coldfeet.. As for the path up to overground, forget it, jest make a corner with a clip brush and a level change.. the path down will be at the end of chapter 2 instead of at the start of three.. Of course, you can still make a longer path down if you want - its your map, but just keep in mind that it shouldnt be able to see daylight...
R-speeds.. pfft.. i havent ever mapped for r-speeds standards so whateva...

And habboi, i did use paths, but when it banks to turn, the tail goes through a building...
