edit blocked.

screen recording software is being a douche.

Highlight the element of the texture you want to use with the
polygonal lasso tool
then go to the
edit menu
, the
transform
sub-menu and click on
perspective
.

If you can't get perfect results with that, use the
warp
transform tool, although it's easy to mess that up.

There's a way to actually tell photoshop which part of an image is a 3D plane to easily manipulate it, but I can't find it in CS5. I only used it once in CS4, though.

too lazy to mess with screen recorders and they are always glitchy anyways.
FRAPS has literally never been glitchy for me. Ever. And I've been using it for about 3 years.

You can upload the video to youtube and set it so that only people with the link can view it. Very few people, if anybody, will bother to download a zip of videos off mediafire.

£15 (GBP), not dollars. It's about $25 (USD).

We're keeping the date submitted restriction, I'm afraid. The point of this is to have a blast on maps we haven't played in years and years.

Huntey, I've been gone a while... tell me more of this "Core" of which you speak.
I could swear I remember you ragequitting on Goldsource a while back.
However...
buy it on steam
What.
Yeah, I quit GS ages ago because of a copyright issue I'd rather not get into right now, but I recently got contacted by a representative of an indie gaming award panel who help promote "bedroom game developers" and he'd played cs_trepidation and seemed to like it a lot. We got talking and he mentioned that as part of a deal they were doing with Valve to get an indie pack on Steam, Valve had said they'd like a Goldsource game included for some nostalgia type sale they're planning in the future, so I got involved in the project which is known as The Core and which will be commercially released on Steam, but only as part of a larger indie pack.
Also none of what I just said is true. It's a free GS mod being made by Urby and he's promised me that once he finishes it he'll finally move onto Source, so I'm helping him make it because Urby is chronically bad at starting projects and not finishing them. You can find out more here.

Also, by "helping him make it", read "being the only one actively making maps for it for the past month and a half."

Edit: Looks like good progress, JeffMOD, but look at those last two shots. Either that is the loneliest marine in the universe, or that area is very, very WIP

Umm, this thread was made before.
This was the result:
make a map using nothing other than textures from a custom WAD (to be provided)
mapping to one pre-defined .wad is actually a really good idea. That could present some very interesting takes on a theme.
I like that idea.
I'd like to hype-up the idea about mapping from a single wad as well.
This is fucking brilliant.
Wow thats a great idea guys! Nice one Urby.
I like the "map from a WAD" idea. It would have to be the right size, and pretty diverse. Maybe someone could make a custom one specifically for a compo.
Map from wad.

//Raises hand.
Map from a wad sounds awesome.
a rule like you must use every texture at least once might add to the challenge.
Every now and then a good and (relatively) original idea like "map from wad" comes along.

/vote
To sum up:
A material pack (which will be converted to a goldsource .wad as well) which contains a relatively small, yet reasonably varied number of textures. The map must use each texture at least once, but can not use any textures not included in the pack except tool textures (that's ZHLT.wad, Goldsourcers).

What's that rubber star attached to the bottom of the tripod?
It's called the "spreader". It has twisting bolts on it which can be tightened to absolutely lock the legs in place, or loosened in order to spread the legs wider (good for stability at height).
The spreader is also easily removed in order to be used on uneven terrain by digging the spikes at the end of each leg into the ground. It's unlikely you'll ever see a spreader used in an exterior location.

East London's nazi populace aside, this is supposed to be a friendly, light-hearted forum game.
It's the "Wall of TWHL", not the "Wall of Hackney".

I'm not offended by the symbol, but what it represents in that context should not be part of a collaborative "artwork" by a collection of TWHLers, simple as.

I'm not arguing over freedom of speech or whether people here are offended by it, I'm just putting my foot down.

1) Take a wall from CGtextures.
2) Each member adds their own graffiti to it.
3) Continue in this fashion until the wall is no longer usable.
4) Get new wall.
5) ???
6) ART!

Notes:
Please maintain the image quality. I've reduced the dimensions so it can be saved as a maximum quality jpeg without having a ridiculous filesize. Don't save it out of MSpaint.
Don't be selfish. Leave room. Don't completely cover other members' work.

In what way are they baiting people? By not having a demo of HL2? That's hardly demanding people use an illegal key to try to play the game for free.
