Hello there, atm im making a freaking huge map and its almost finished but thats not the point. In a certain area, the engine gives me this r_speeds:

As you see, it gives very weird drops. From 100 to 21 for example. And the wpoly or epoly does NOT change. And also the fram BEFORE the drop, the ms goes from 1ms to a higher value.

This doesnt happen in other parts of the map. Only from the middle to the end. And its very weird because I didnt do any big things to the map.

Anyone got some wise words for me?

*ps, I didnt move when I copied that r_speeds.

All HL data is stored in half-life.gcf or something. You can open it with ...scape (... = gfc!?)

The only thing Valve needs todo is release the counterstrike source code. Just like with the Quake games. There is so much possible when the source code is availibe. And ofcourse there will be deeper cheats/hacks. BUT, when you know the source code you can also write the best anti cheats. And thats a good thing!

Also things like mapping tools, movie tools and stuff would be very handy to make with a full open source! To bad there is only around 20% of the source code availble. And those codes are not even 100% done.

Hello, Im making a incredible huge kz map. Now, im facing this compiling problem "Exceeded MAX_MAP_CLIPNODES". I know what it is, and I know there are ways to fix it. But still after several trys its still not fixed.

Is there anyone known with this problem, and has some great tips for me to tweak this map ?

For example some compile commands?

Its still not fixed, and I cant install a old vista driver. Because those version checks if there is a driver on your pc ..

anybody got a old VISTA driver file? :S Or is there another fix? I cant map now ..

You have some random pipes in your map. Its all cool and stuff but it hasnt really got any use ..

So what I was thinking, place some of those pips in other places. And then add a teleport in the end of the pipe, and let it teleport to another pipe in the opposite of the map. Kinda like pacman ..

Hello, I bought a new PC with the following videocard:
ATi RADEON HD4850

When I open hammer, and a map and I want to select something in 3D view you cant. You can surf around in the map, but you cant select things.

Now I know this problem. And I know how to fix it on my old pc with a Ati RADEON 9800xt. You just need to download a older Driver, install it in some random folder and pick out the atioglxx.dll and place this file in your hammer directory. Very easy fix.

But now, I got this new videocard. And the old atioglxx.dll file dont works on this PC (Got vista now, old pc has XP). And, there are now "old" drivers for this videocard.

So for now, does anybody have a old driver file (atioglxx.dll) that works on vista? Or is there another way to fix this problem?

My new pc, its build to buy a Quad core and a second videocard in the feature. At the moment you dont need a Quad core to play games or do video edditing. Ofcourse, some things goes faster. But the best thing is to wait for like 1/2 years. Then those Quad cores are much cheaper and maby much better. Because Quad cores are still in beta fase. And the released once are still "proto types".

DING DING DING

First Beta release: dll here

The beta got:
  • Allot of small bugs
  • Light bugs
  • A huge vertex bug left from your spawn (walk to it and its gone)
  • No bombsights
  • No Terrorist Spawn
  • No much details, this was the first setup
Maby you guys can think with me about the gameplay and such. Where I need to place the bombspots. I got a few locations for possible spawns & bomb spots. Also Im planning to add, remove, adjust some tunnels.

@potatis_invalid, more ... Im already using 84 different textures :) And I like to keep rooms seperate by 1 single texture thats fills up the rooms. And then some other smaller less eye catshing textures around it :)

Hello, I started a defuse map for Counter-Strike v1.6 ! :)
Leave the comments about the fact its for Counter-Strike. I play cs for 8 years now and it just wont leave my vanes. Only constructive critism!

For now, I only got a few screens for ya!

Soon ill post a beta of the map. To play, but its near from done. I added some textures just to test the map. So allot is gonna chance, I only need to find/make the right ones :)

Hello,

Im looking for the specific texture "r25_droplight1". And because its probably in the r25.wad file, you could upload it when you have it.

Its a very hard to find .wad file at the moment. And I dont know why? Well anyway, I couldt find the texture pack on google. Did a 2 hour search. I only found some r25_ textures from another map. But no r25_droplight1 ... sux

Its oke with my monitor. And even ingame its much more bright. Also YouTube makes the video's darker then they are! Sorry for the darkness. I cant make it better :(

Hello people!

Im making a map atm that has a death theme. Its really great, with thunder and stuff ... thanks to muzzleflash ofcourse! He created this awsome thunder effect in just a eye blink!

So, Im almost finished with the map but now its still a bit empty. I added some old broken schacks, old no-leave trees. Some windyness. And ofcourse rain + thunder (sound + light effects). It has a great athmposphere!

Now im looking for a model, that hangs himself on a rope. So a guy who is a bit bloody, and has a rope around his neck. Also, im looking for some other death stuff. Dead plants (sprites). Dead body's. Everything must be dead! DEAD DEAD DEAD! .. sorry.

I searched the web a bit but I couldt get any good stuff. Maby im just typing the wrong search words. Or I dont have the right websites to look at. Anyway, I would appriciate it if you guys could watch for me! Or just give some links where I should find any of this.

Whats the entity to transform a brush to a vehicle? An example map is that starwars map, where you can ride on a R2D2. You need to push the +use button and you can drive away with it.

Also a explaination howto use it would be wonderfull. Or a link to the entity explaination.
