Lol, if you are using the HL compiling tools is like if you're compiling it for HL not Source, that's why it fails.

I've got another question, sorry about the triple post, i don't want to edit because nobody would see it.

I've done a cutted down trunk and now I want to texture it. So i want to texture the trunk with a tree texture and another texture for the sliced part. But XSI only allows to put a texture per mesh, so is there a way to separate the top face from the trunk?

You can create a func_reflective_glass but it's more expensive to render than the camera.

Would be awesome! :P

Now srsly, lots of games are based on real disasters and are damn cool. Doing a map of your own school would be cool to play with friends, but not for other people.

Here you got the update. I'm dissapointed. CP_fastlane and cp_turbine are the custom maps that are officials now. Fastlane is like ok, but WTF ctf_turbine??? turbine is one of the worst custom maps I have ever played so wtf is doing it as official? I can't undestand.

And the new unlockables for pyro... flare gun seems useful, the backburner... I don't understand it and doesn't seem to be very useful. I think they should have made a liquid flamethrower, so you can shoot the gasoline and then burn it all on the floor.

And the Axtinguisher looks ok, but I prefer the normal Axe (visual)

You probably know there's a new update comming for TF2, the important thing is they're adding 2 community maps as official, I think it's the first time they take community maps and put them on a game. Here's the copypaste from tf2maps.net:
Valve has announced that the Pyro class update for its online multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2 will be released this Thursday, June 19. The update includes three unlockable weapons?such as the previously unveiled Axtinguisher?which can be obtained via 35 new class-specific achievements. Valve has previously stated that the Pyro update will also include "significant changes" to the core class which will be enacted regardless of whether players have the new weapons.
In addition to the new weapons and achievements, two community-created maps for the game will be included in the update. To tide players over til Thursday, Valve also plans to release Meet the Sniper, the latest video in its series of comedic class profiles, tomorrow morning.
The developer also revealed that it will hold another Team Fortress 2 free weekend, allowing players who haven't yet purchased the title to play the game for free from Friday morning through Sunday evening. During that time, players can download and play Team Fortress 2 from Valve's downloadable PC gaming platform Steam free of charge.
I think one of the maps will be cp_redstone, I read somewhere about a tf2 dev saying that this map was very good and had an official quality so I srsly think it will become official.

lol you've got time, it's summer. I haven't mapped for 2 or 3 months because I've had hard disk problems and now I'm on exams, but this summer I'll work 3 months, so I'll be mapping all summer, hope I can finish 1 or 2 maps :D

I was on one around 8 on Istambul when I was younger, funny thing is we all were sleeping and my parents and brother waked up, but I didn't, lol.

Yes, it's good mapping for 11 years old, but it's not above the averageso you guys need to improve your skills. I think the idea of your MOD is nice, you can make it funny with Kleiner as main character, but you seriously need to make more maps and test things. Look at HL, all rooms are detailed.

I've got a big problem here. I've done a part of the map, but now I want to add more displacements, and sub-divide them.

Problem is I can't do it because it breaks the original displacement, and I can't subdivide all the cliff because I've made holes on them to make the doors, so if I subdivide it will break what I've been doing before.
