I know, it really deserves much better publicity and treatment. As I said before, it's brilliant if you want to make a mod, due to SO much more versatility with the NPCs! I turned barney into otis with a model, env_customise, and monster_barney!

Figured it out....don't copy one spawn point to make numerous ones. Create a seperate spawn for each place you want a spawn point. ;)

"Token to large on line 4"
This can refer to several different errors:
The "too many wads" as mentioned above. 8 wads in WC/Hammer is a good limit, more may cause this error among others. If you are using more than 8 wads you can use Wally to combine the extra wads into one custom wad.
Too long a path/name for the map or compiling tools. Only a limited amount of memory is set aside for the path/names. Solution is to move the compiling tools or map into a shallow folder.
Having a space in a path/name. Examples: frequently Program Files is part of the path name. Compiling tools do not like the space between "program" and "files". Solutions are to either use the MSDOS pathname, or to move the offending files from under the spaced folder, or put quotes " " around the whole path name in WC/Hammer so that windows uses it right. If your map has the space in its name (eg. Bob map), remove the space and change it to (Bobmap).

It appears it cannot find a file called "test.bsp" (test = mapname).
I tried to find that file in my computer, but couldn't find it anywhere.
I think that Hammer never made that file, but why? I did set up everything right (I guess...)

No, Seriously though, its not so much for your self, or for others, its more for the site, I think everyone has a responsibility to maintain the site's dignity and professionalism - if you ignore this and keep mindlessly spamming in the hope of increasing your post count (which I think is a very bad idea to put near one's name - its crap and demeaning)

It might just be PodBot being stupid? Try the map with real people to see if it's the spawns or the bots.

scientist. if ur usin a path_corner then type the name of the ent 2 trigger in the "fire on pass" thing. dunno much bout info_nodes (i skipped most of the i the beginning tuts. stupid me.) about you entering an area. i tihnk its a trigger_once or trigger_multiple. better ask the experts on that one though. and remember the last 2 ents i said r brush based.

First quesition. How can i make trigger based on characher entering a location?
Example: when character enters a room some entity gets started....

With what trigger i can make some NPC (sientist for example) move from one location to another...

Ok. Found it out:

Find a picture you want:
Restrictions:
320x240 256 colors BMP. Name it Logo.bmp

Next Get qlumpy which was included in the HL SDK SDK/Texture Wad Tools. Then get cached.ls (Note it's LS). That's a script for qlumpy and can be found in SDK/SHELL. Now it's get a bit buggy. qlumpy is an old dos program and it caused trouble on my XP Professional.
But run Command prompt and you'll be fine.

Place both cached.ls and qlumpy on C:
Create the following folder system: C:quivermoddirgfxshell and place the logo.bmp there in shell.
Create the folder C:moddir and place a already existing cached.wad
there because qlumpy can't create wads!!! Copy Hl's or create a new one with Wally.

How to make folders? Right-click on empty space inside a drive (ex. C:)
and select New/folder and rename it.

Use command prompt and write:
C:qlumpy cached.ls
Then get the Wad in moddir and put it in the mod directory of your choice.

Wasn't so hard? :cool:

Just finished my first map and everything is perfect except one thing. I waypointed the map and tested it with Podbot. When the sever fills up to 10 vs. 10, when it's time to respawn, like 4 - 5 bots get killed while spawing. I have plenty of spawn points placed at the bases because there are only 10 bots on a team and I placed enough for 16.

Anybody know what I'm talking about, is there any help?

Errrr.... He?s being redirected to his own former post 7th :D. I think that Rexgregori just want to remind us about the topic... I honestly don?t know how to do it Rexgregory, I could lead you to spanish coding pages but even I don?t understand a thing there.
If you are an experienced mapper trym but if not begin mapping and reeskining and so on, it?s so cool to see the results!!!.

Almost impossible to understand in the "F" era (you know, Morbid Angel Albums follow an alphabetic progression "Abominations", the B which I can?t remember, "Covenant", the D I forgot, "Entangled In Chaos", "Formulas Fatal to the Flesh", "Gateways to Annihilation"...), impossible to understand all those Lovecraft stuff there... Mixed with arameo (arameian????) things... All those Gods, Chthulhhu, Absu, Amah-Ushumgal-Anna and so on...
I really dig Morbid Angel, wich may lead to think I am a brutal DeathMetal-Head but, well, it?s just another part :).

The next compo will be decided once the results of the last have been posted.

I had an e-mail from atom today, and due to technical complications, he is not able to access some areas of the site and will not be able to post the Compo results for a few weeks.
I know you will all be disapointed, especially those who entered. I was lucky enough to see most of the entries, and the standard was very high. But I am not the Judge... so you will have to wait till atom gets back.
Thank you to those who entered... we have some really talented members here!!!

For those of you interested in submitting tutorials, please read the following :

I have to move house and will be without a computer until the middle of December (03).
Having said that, I don't want you to stop working on stuff, I am just saying this to let you know that I won't be able to do anything till then. Please don't e-mail anything large, as I will be getting my e-mail remotely and won't be able to save stuff.

Thank you to all the members who have sent in stuff this year and helped make this a really great site. I will get the ball rolling again early in the New Year.
