I started back in the time of SC2000. I didn't understand what the heck was it about or even how did it work, and I got terribly frustrated that I wanted to place buildings and the only thing I was seeing was coloured rectangles.
Then came SC3000. I
still didn't have the slightest idea on how to make it work, until someone insisted that I waited some time after placing the coloured rectangles. The buildings slowly began appearing and I started to like it. Still, I had no idea how to play and so all my cities went bankrupt in mere months.
When I was starting to get it, SC4 came around. I was absolutely thrilled and I still play it (and none of my cities have gone bankrupt in quite some time).
Now Sim City has taken a different direction and I'm not interested in the latest version. Now I see this... and it looks very promising. Except that I imagine I'll need about 10 concurrent quad-core processors to handle everything I see in those screenshots. I'd totally try it, out of curiosity at least.
