There are bugs. Some animations stopped working for me, namely Breen during the teleport scene. He never gets up from his desk.

The achievements are cool though most of them are just checkpoints. Had to scour Water Hazard to get "Vorticough" cos I couldn't remember where it was first time I found it.

The graphical changes are hardly noticeable.

I did not intend to sound elitist. In fact my post needs to be altered to start: 'In my opinion...'

I admit my post is entirely based on my opinion, but at no point did I mean 'These are the facts' and 'This is how everyone should think'

If my opinion makes me a pompous prick then so be it. That's me. :)

...and yes, from my experience the majority of console players are brick-headed teens.

The PC is, and always will be the best gaming platform.
  • Mouse and Keyboard is perfect for shooters, not those rubber fuck sticks on console controls. Of course you have the option to plug in any controllers you like if the need arises.
  • PC Gamers have at least some degree of intelligence, having to install / patch a game rather than just putting in a disc and playing from the off.
  • PC's can be upgraded easily.
  • Free to play online*
  • Largest modding community.
  • Multiplayer games supporting more players.
  • Easy to chat with friends using keyboards or a range of voice products.
  • NO HALO.

The official 2008 trailer had "2009" at the end so people were expecting it to be release on Dec 31st at the latest.

The team claimed that they didn't announce the fact they would not meet this date until last minute (December) because they were confident that they would be finished, though how nearly 5 months has now passed is beyond me. :|

Heh, this kind of post on the BMS forums would get you an ear-bashing and a warning / temp ban. :P

Valve have shown a great interest in BMS but they would not have hired team, at least not yet. The mod has not been released and only a very select few have even played any of it. Valve would most likely see how reception of the mod pans out before putting their hands in their wallets.

I do think that the guys developing BMS have got a bright future ahead of them as they are an extremely talented bunch. As for the delays, do not forget that this is a mod that is developed by a team of people who are spread across the globe and can only really work on the mod in their free time. That's not a large amount of time to begin with, not to mention how free time needs to be cherished and planned out for other activities such as family and social events.

My name is Andrew Morris. Andrew means 'Manly'. Morris, in England and Scotland the name can be derived from the Old French personal name Maurice which was introduced to Britain by the Normans.

I am half Scottish, half English and I have spent my entire life living in Shropshire in the Midlands.

I'll be honest, I'd never heard of any of them until REIssues was advertised here. That said, I have since played them all and they are all incredible (for the most part).

I think working closely with a group of people is a sure fire way of getting decent constructive criticism and it's one of the main reasons why I sign up for these projects.

If the Source modding community can't handle that then I guess this style of community development with fizzle out soon, which is a shame.

I've nearly finished mine but I need to ask. I don't want the player to be able to enter the cubicle if possible. So will they be able to just walk past and view it from the hallway??
As long as the player is within the 512? area. Also, hallway? I thought each cubicle was it's own map.

Ah, forgot that one. That was a horrible thing to witness. I was 5 when I first saw it.

1) Nothing. Movies and games aren't scary.

2) Fast paced, coop, original.

3) Left 4 Dead 2 is good, but gets old, fast.

4) Everything. Its too dark, too slow, and too repetitive

5) Hell no. Monotonous killing floors full of enemies are the death of entertainment.

Note: Please for the love of God don't make a zombie mod. There's like a thousand of them and they all suck.

In a sense. I don't know if I will continue with it. After all, how far can you go with HLDM story wise... mind you, the characters could start questioning their motives or get sent to a Sven Coop server or something.

The latter could be damn interesting. In fact, I might have an idea for a new fan fiction with that idea in mind. :/

in Doctor Deathmatch Post #279144
Dr. Simmons awoke, his eyes adjusting to the dim red lighting that surrounded him. He was upright, on his feet. Had he fallen asleep standing up? He checked himself over, to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Lab coat, bright blue trousers, ludicrously purple shirt, striped tie. It was him, no doubt about it. Then to his astonishment, he realised he was brandishing a 9mm pistol, standard Black Mesa security issue. He felt a weight in the back of his lab coat.

?What in the the name of...? he reached around and found a crowbar, stored in the back of his trousers. He was utterly perplexed as he glanced around the tunnel he was in. He could see daylight up ahead, just beyond the opening of the tunnel, as well as a rocky cliff face. It was definitely Black Mesa, but not a part that Simmons had ever entered. Suddenly, a figure came into view. It was Gina Cross. ?Oh thank goodness.? Simmons was relieved to see a familiar and friendly face.

Something wasn't right though. Gina was running straight for him, her arms out in front, cradling what looked like an experimental weapon from the QE labs. Her HEV was different too, rather than the uniform orange and black, this one was bright green and pink.

?Dr. Cross!? Simmons called out. Just as he did she opened up on him with the Gauss Gun. Simmons screamed and darted in the opposite direction, towards a pool of water which contained chunks of concrete and the entrance to a pipe. Another figure appeared from the mouth of the pipe, with an equally bizarre variation of the HEV in yellow and red. ?Gordon Freeman? Thank heavens! Dr. Cross has stolen an experimental weapon and gone totally loopy!?

Freeman stood, motionless, with rage and hate burning in his eyes. He too opened fire, Mp5 rounds pelting into the rocks and water. Simmons let out another yelp and fired his pistol towards the frenzied physicist. A round struck him in the chest and he grunted, a second smashed into his forehead and he slumped to the ground. Simmons dashed for the sub machine gun as Gina strafed from around the corner in the tunnel. Simmons leapt across the water and scooped up the Mp5, turning on his heel and pulling the trigger. The gun emitted a loud click and nothing more. Simmons glanced at the empty weapon and then back to Gina. White hot depleted Uranium burst out of the Gauss gun and ripped through Simmons' chest. He screamed out loud as he was knocked back, another 3 rounds tearing through his body which flopped into the water and bobbed on the surface lifeless.

Simmons gasped as his eyes whipped open. He was sweating excessively, unable to hear anything over the sound of his heavy breathing and his panic stricken heart rate. Was it a dream?

He looked around. He was upright again, on his feet, his hand clutching a 9mm Glock pistol and the weight of a crowbar against his back. He was in a concrete bunker, set into a cliff, overlooking a large space of land. On the opposite side he could see an opening to a tunnel, and Gordon Freeman was running into it, donning a yellow and red HEV suit, grasping a hand grenade. Simmons could see a ladder leading up to a ledge set high above the arena, a crossbow in plain sight. He smirked and dove out of the window, an alien launch pad below sending him sailing upward towards his destination.
