I believe so. I can't say for sure but don't you get it with HL2? Or in fact any Source game since it's free. You just download it off Steam and it configures automatically depending on the game.

Right it won't work and to add it all now I've gotta remember what I extracted as it filled up the folders with like 1 or 2 gig of files.
By extracting all the files it loaded fine but when I loaded a map it took ages and then instantly crashes with no warning.
Pfft not worth it.

Hm supposedly there's a rumour that using the VPK extractor with Steam open may get you VAC banned since it means you can edit the skins to stand out etc...
It's not the case. It won't even load due to an engine error after editing the weird pak file.

No doesn't work. I followed the readme exactly after trying to rename the materials to the original names like I'd normally do for HL2 etc.

I don't believe it is. At points when you see yourself in 3rd person I believe they just spawned a slave...
I've never had this problem? I noticed that some people had problems where the coordinates on the grid were all pixelated but for me everything has been fine otherwise I'd be the first to yell at Valve.

My tip to you is, if you can finish creating a decent SP map then you can do this.
