Is it (or should it be) against the rules to edit the light data of a BSP (or to write a custom HLRAD)? I believe it can be edited to drastically change all colours of a surface, essentially painting over the texture with a new image.
Hollow is useful for surrounding your map with a box to prevent leaks, for testing before your map is complete.

Islam is not an "undemocratic way of life". It's a religion. Just as it is with Christians, Buddhists, Jews etc., Muslims can be democratic or antidemocratic. Saying Islam is an "undemocratic way of life" is like saying Christianity is homophobic. True, there are many Christian idiots who hate gays. But there are also many tolerant Christians that let other people live the way they want.

If guns are needed in America but not in the rest of the world, then America needs to change. You'll never get rid of those guns if you never start disarming. Criminals and everyone else. Disarming good people may put them in danger or make them vulnerable to abuse over the next years, but once the guns are off the streets it'll be worth it. Freedom is worth sacrifices and the freedom of living without having to risk getting shot or threatened with a gun is to me a very important freedom. Worth a few restrictions.
That said, I don't blame Zeeba for getting a gun. I'm sure he'll handle it fairly responsibly. As would most people. I'd probably have a gun if I were American. I wouldn't risk my life for a laptop though. It is not worth risking a life for, your life or that of the person taking your laptop.

My guess is that magic quotes (a PHP feature/bug which adds backslashes before \, ", ' and NULL) was activated on the previous server and that Penguinboy wrote code to remove the unnecessary backslashes and when TWHL moved to the new server, on which magic quotes is deactivated, he did not remove that code.
