If C: is where your OS is installed, then there's your problem... My PC lags whenever I have less than 150m free on my OS drive. If you have any programs on C:, try removing most of them and reinstalling them on D:

He landed on the truck, Elon... Anyway, I think the last issue sucked kinda... I kinda liked it up to then... but issue 4 is kinda lame and cheesy... to me, at least. "Cheers" kinda seemed weird and inappropriate... another thing - I don't think Barney and Alyx should've been the characters to crash like that, but maybe that's just me... That 'arrrg' seemed odd too... kinda made me think "Pirates!?"... And the last bit with the 'big gun' was... ...cheap. The posing was pretty good though, kudos.

And btw, I'm not at all sure about this, but I think the value = units per second.

Hmmm.... maybe if you add an info_node on each stair? I dunno... I'm pretty sure that it can be done (seing how sci's and barneys can follow you up and down stairs), I just haven't tried making it scripted... It should be doable though... I might tweak around a bit and try to see how it works, as soon as I have time...

Try making a small box outside the map with the scientist in it. Give the sientist a Name = Doobie. Place two scripted sequences (so that he'll walk from one of them to the other) and name the first one "m1" and the 2nd one "m2". Set m1's Target = m2 and m2's Target = m1. Check the "Repeatable" flag on both sequences. Make a trigger_once where you want to walk through in order for the sci to appear and startt walking. Make the trigger_once's Target = m1.
That should do it, and he should be killable. I've done this in a map before, so I'm pretty sure it works.
If he isn't killable, make sure the "No Interruptions" flag isn't checked in any of the 2 sequences.

Open up your config.cfg file and modify these two lines:

cl_forwardspeed "400"
cl_backspeed "400"

Use a value below 400... You may have to try a few times until you get the exact speed you want
You might also want to add in this line:

cl_sidespeed "x"

where "x" = the same value you choose for the above mentioned two lines.
And be sure to make a backup copy of config.cfg in case you screw anything up :P

You can make a sound play when a player enters a certain area, by using a trigger_once entity (this is a brush entity... you basically make a block textured with aaatrigger, and hit the "To Entity" button, then select "trigger_once" from the dropdown menu). Give the ambient_generic that has your sound a name in the "Name" field. Type the same name into the trigger_once's "Target" field. Make sure the ambient_generic has it's "start silent" flag checked... If you want music to play, check the "play everywhere" flag as well. Now, when the player walks through the trigger_once, the sound will play.
