1) just have a game_text be targetted by the trigger_once. Target field goes to name field.

2)If you pick up the items in one map (with good monsters) and then transition to another map (with the bad monsters) you can have this happen. If you really want it all in one map, you can tediously target each and every monster in the map with a multi_manager and teleport them into a room far away, and then spawn in evil monsters when the player walks over an item.

Ya this is very hard to explain in text. Best if you upload a problem map and have us do it for you, you'll figure it out once you see it.

So you have the two hallways right? I'm assuming you do. One of them is just angled at a 45 degree ange to the 90 degree hallway, so it shouldn't be hard to make.

Anyway, make the bottom left vertex of the 45 degree hallway up against the top left vertex of the bottom hallway. Shift copy the bottom one. You see that triangle of space you need to fill? you are ging to VM the new copied hallway into that shape so it fits into the hole. If you give me a map I will do it for you if this is too complicated to read.

You should have made a new thread about this in HL1 Engine discussion, but hey, who cares?

You need to extend out the hallways so they overlap eachother and then clip them at a 22.5 degree angle. The first one you clip them at a 45 degree angle.

You are running in software mode I'm assuming? Software mode only allows for a certain number or polygons to be displayed. Switch to directx or opengl, or lower the complexity of your map. But Software mode is a good indicator of when you are either doing something wrong, or you need to streamline your map for lesser computers.

that is a nice sword, converting will be trouble though. I used to have this 1 handed sword that was like 50 polys and it was just a simple blade, hilt and handle with like simple textures. I wish I had that, it's all I need :D I'm sure maybe the HIT people could make that in 10 minutes.

There is a mod called Quest: The Lost Realm, an rpg for hl1. The mod has been in developement for years now, and is coming along nicely, but their coder has left. They desperately need someone to code for them! The rpg is 3rd person and everything, go here for details.

http://quest.planethalflife.gamespy.com/

Post in the forums saying you are willing to code for it and they will most likely put you on the team. Don't let this mod die now just because thier coder left! Save them!

When I had a hammer problem way back, it wasn't something wrong with hammer, it was actually a bad harddrive, believe it or not. But since the problem is isolated I doubt that that's the cause. Try doing a system restore to before the problem.

Lol sorry for all these threads I have lot's of new questions :D

Does anyone remember an old model replacement site that also had skin replacements too? It was a geocities site, and I think it was mostly a red color scheme. I really need that site, it has models on it I can't find anywhere else, and google has been over-run with hl2 and for some reason scientific half life talk (?) i can't find it.

We swear because using words that are commonly reffered to as "Bad" help convey ou emotions better. If people swore as much as they used all other words, the swear word's purpose is lost.

At 6000+ speed you have to look at the medium ships ahead and predict where they will shoot based on your movements. You also have to know what pattern they are shooting in to consiously evade the bullets.

I have the demo for Ballistics, a very high speed racing game where you are magnetically linked to the side of a tunnel and you can go past mach 2! Unfotunately, it IS ademo. Anyone know of any high speed racing games like this that aren't cars? Because any car racing game will rarely get past 200 mph. Ballistics goes up to any speed (actually the number a long variable can hold) so it's as fast as your reflexes. Fasted I got to was 1500mph

Yes, but not by using the earth's field as the base. Our body's fields aren't strong enough for levitaion ANYWHERE, much less with earth's.

I've said this before, I'll say it again. The whole reason of our existance is to become self-sufficiant. Once we can survive without expending resources more than we can create them, and stay alive without doing anything physical, we have no other purpose except for entertainment. Which brings me to this, we live for sex.

Oh and the earth's gravitational field isn't strong enough for you to levitate an object purely on magnetism.
