I think a masterful horror map should NOT be horribly dark, whilst yes it IS atmospheric, it's annoying more than anything else, especially with HL's pitiful flashlight. I haven't actually played the map, i will whenever my PC is fixed, but i thought it was going to be singleplayer?

yea, very true, but its a deathmatch map, and I had recent concerns about lighting, and being too dark. I had no choice but to make it brighter then what it was originally. Thanks for the reviews guys!

I'm using those same textures for a project of my own. Great set. +Pretty spooky, though nothing really made me flinch +/- The map had no real theme. It looked great, but it looked like you combined every single possible horror idea in this map. At one point I was in a kitchen and the next I was in some operating room? +/- Weapon placement. Kinda sparse on the weaponry in my opinion. -Fairly small and claustrophobic, would probably affect gameplay. But I'll definitely take visuals over gameplay for this one. -The crying girl got a little repetitive after a while.
Overall 4 stars. Great work but there is always room for improvement. I'd love to see an extended sequel to this and possibly a single player version.

im sorry if you think im being unfair, but im not.. Aim and Fy maps can be fun, and are fun. But maps like aim_akcolt are dreadful.. Make a theme to your map. make it more interesting. add props - nice lighting.. SOMETHING that makes it different from all the countless other aim_omgdismaprrulelawls

ah, cool. Glad you enjoyed it. More vents is a good idea, and I tried the eye thingy with the painting, but had no luck.. you see, the hole where the eye is, it's only a unit and a half big so I had a hard time working with a turret that small, I got many bugs like wierd shadows and whatnot. But hey, thanks for the rating, and I hope to see you in Muzzles server once its added!

Ok so I played it and I did jump a bit actually...The bang type noises got me but who wouldn't be scared by it...
Anyway it was a bit small but I like how you converted the HL2 models...You also edited the Zombie which I thought was cool.
I didn't quite understand the trap because at first I thought it was gonna make that body do something...Anyway it was great overall and had a nice mood to it.
4.5 out of 5 because the things that could be improved are:
Maybe more areas to move in (Vents) Some more scares like that painting...She could follow you with her eyes...

Excellent map!
Pros:
Superb building structure and design. Excellent use and coordination of textures. Very unique feel, but still feels very much like a classic HL2 level (in a good way ) Cool use of soundscapes, ambients, and 3d skyboxing. Very realistic look. Actually looks as it should in RL. Good lighting. Good weapon placements. Excellent prop locations.
Cons: Too small
All in all its a 5 out of 5! Quite an excellent map good sir XD
I usually check to see if a cylinder or arch, or any curve for that matter, slices into a plane that is rather large in size. Sometime when compiling, it can't read the subdivides right, and adding a skip brush that encompasses the problematic corner can fix it.
I would delete these brushes and make new ones. That's where the error points to. If that doesn't work, find any semi-complex VMd parts and remake them.

If I recall I released quite a few DM maps... I look the mood in that picture and can imagine that being a good SP horror map because imagine those lights popping out one by one.

Okay, it's not full bright. I just made it dim. I also added lights in all four corners if you didnt notice. fy maps and aim maps are made for fun, which is mainly the reason why counter-strike was made. If you don't like those kind of maps, it's very simple, go to a different server.

But I don't really understand the concept of fun yard maps. Can't people have fun in regular, beautiful maps? cs_office is not fun? de_corse is not fun? Can't people get the same training in a regular map?

Just finished this yesterday . Man, I love this mod! It has a blend of humour ( Which is very original if you ask me ) and is fun to play in a way. Hey, are you planning on a sequel ?
Map looks cool, i'd download and play it, but my Video card seems to have shat itself, so i'll be sure to look at it whenever i'm able to.

The couch however was bit... boring. But the bridge was awesome!

And the remakeing the selected brushes in your ss didn't fix it
