I'm a hundred percent with Jeff on this one.
And yes, I had read it automatically quit after very few minutes without internet because parts of the game engine were hidden away in The Cloud and it couldn't run without it. It seems it either wasn't true or they changed it after that.

^Exactly. Steam has an offline mode, which kind of doesn't quite work if you didn't activate it before disconnecting, but if you happen to lose your connection while Steam is running, everything still works just fine. You can keep playing whatever you were playing (unless of course it was a multiplayer game) and you can start any games you want.
In this case, however, if your internet happens to go down while you're playing, the game automatically quits just to fuck with you, because they're assholes and that's how they roll. It is VERY different.
You can't depend on your internet connection, especially if it's not needed for anything but fucking with people. That is a total dick move.

Googling my only released playable map, cs_omega_assault for CS, only returns a bunch of other assault modifications that happen to be named the same. My TWHL entry is first on results page 2. It doesn't seem to appear anywhere else.

I got a virus or two on my very first computer. I didn't have internet access at the time, they came in a software disc that was bundled with the computer, in some of those sketchy free antivirus apps that were so prevalent in the 90s.

I'm not much of an expert, but I hear that it's better that all RAM slots are fitted with an equal capacity. I think it's because of something about addressing.

Funny how different car makers share models with other car makers in different countries.
Dacias are sold in western Europe as Renault, American Chevrolet models are sold in Europe by Opel, etc. You end up seeing cars you know but with a different brand, it's slightly odd at first.

It's not a problem with Romanians in England. This happens in every country. When you open up to immigrants, rich people from other countries don't bother moving over, because they're already rich and their moneymaking scheme is where they are (or the few that do, go mostly unnoticed). Poor people, on the other hand, flock over to the new place to find new opportunities; which there aren't that many of, so they end up begging or stealing or living off social benefits or whatever, rather than returning to their country, "because they're in a better place now" even if they are in a much worse situation than before (then again, people that do that without considering their options beforehand are idiots).
That is probably the reason I'd never move to a different country even if it is "better", if I didn't have a certainty that I could secure a stable position to make a living.

"Cryptic, not really. I'm just giving out little points of information rather than minute-by-minute accounts of something vaguely noteworthy happening."
Fair enough. I just didn't know some of these things and found it hard to follow.

Instant, your latest journals are getting increasingly cryptic or incomplete in the information you wish to convey and I'm struggling to understand them if they make any sense at all.

I got me these in NY. Best I've ever had. Then again, there has to be a difference between $15 headphones and $100 headphones or you're either deaf or an idiot.

Isn't every country full of idiots?
Happy birthday Jeff. I'm a bit surprised you're 18 already, I was under the impression that you were 16 or something. Come to think of it, you probably were the last time I asked.

Despite being a great fan of Sim City, I'm not going to play it. Ever. Because
a) it's too bloody expensive
b) it's ONLINE-ONLY even if you don't play online
So they're not getting my money. Ever.
...perhaps now too.
Thanks guys
I got a few games as gifts on steam. I don't know what to play first!
@Scotch: I don't know yet, they're unlisted so I have to figure it out by myself.
@TJB: That does not stop the savvy.
@Dimbark: Me too. I haven't tested it but cats are probably not nearly as flammable.
Curious, this is my 4926th. substr() of my home phone number.

Plus it's about everywhere that natives have a slightly higher chance of being accepted.

Expect all my overdue journals shortly
This is totally not "Aperture Science vs. Black Mesa". No sir.
