That's probably not unlikely to happen, with the skybox being spherical. That's some risky geometry to be sealing us off from the void.

I would probably go for Steam games. I will have to find one that I might want though.

Just a minute ago I noticed for the first time that the name of our friendly neighbourhood potato is not potasis_ivalid as I had thought, but potatis_invalid. Oh my.

Also, Happy New Year everyone!

It seems there are some wads needed for the bsp files, tools.wad and dev1.wad, I've just been renaming copies of zhlt.wad to replace them.
I'm also currently working on my entry.

At least my first ever laptop is back up and running, the one that has trouble running Half-Life.

Is that a fishing lure? If I were you I would do some strength testing of that design before using it. It looks like it bridges the gap between two lengths of line and plastics shaped by 3D printing are supposed to be weaker than moulded plastics. So if something with any weight is being supported by it, it might break.
Commented 9 years ago2014-12-05 11:17:42 UTC in journal: #8477 Comment #40478
If I had a 3D printer probably the first thing I would do would be to try and export Half-Life models to a format that could be 3D printed, and then print them off and try to paint them. Maybe even try and find a way to export level geometry from some iconic scenes from HL and make a diorama.

If you were to look at my first journal, and rufee's, you would find these comments. The 'what's my/his number' comments refer to our member numbers in the urls of our pages; 3920 and 5430 respectively. Going to either journal number 3920 or 5430, you would find these comments, suggesting to look somewhere in between. The average of 3920 and 5430 is 4675, which was the journal where the Golden Rufee was hidden. I would have liked to have taken it a bit further, although I do have four more Golden Rufees so maybe I can think up a better one over the weekend.

Dimbark is correct, he found it.
I was planning on making the clue chain longer by going through the map vault, but the corresponding map belongs to Madcow. I'm not sure whether he's still around but I didn't want to risk him getting a PM about me having commented on his map.

I'm not on my computer at the moment, so I can only guess what exactly the problem is from the comments, but it sounds like you have the window brush and the door brush at different widths. The way that the game engine figures out how far each door is supposed to travel is based on how wide the brush is. So for the window to line up with the door whether it's open or closed, you have to make the window entity the same width as the door entity. Since doing so by just making the brush wider could lead to ugly texture problems at the door edges, the way Captain Terror suggested is to extend the width with clip brushes, like in the picture.
User posted image
The clip brushes should be tied to the same entity as the window brush, so in total you would still only have two door entities. This can be done by creating the clip brushes, selecting them and the glass, and clicking 'Tie to Entity'. This will open a little window saying that one of them is already tied to an entity, and do you want to just add the selection to it. Click yes, then it should work fine.

If there is some way of replicating logic gates using entities, then you could probably try and figure it out in Minecraft with Redstone, or rather ask someone on the Minecraft forums while pretending that you're going to make an adventure map.

I'm sure there is some way of replicating gates, I've just never gotten round to figuring out if there is.

Thanks everyone for the condolences. I'm not sure if it's only affected me so much because it's the first time I've lost anyone I was really close to, but he was a good friend and he will be missed.

Also it was two and a half hours, I had worked out the time incorrectly.

If you set the bike up with a super duper high voltage battery, and you set the wiring up to shock your leg muscles right, you wouldn't even need to put on a motor!
