There wasn't much wildlife though.

Even in short doses I can't enjoy it. I tried to go back to it and played for 2 hours and all the painful memories came back.

Instead of gunplay they should have given the player a camera and let them take pictures of wildlife.

Loved the game, personally.

You can play them both in versus already. I did Death Toll, it was a blast, and as far as I could tell completely 'done' and set up properly for versus. You need your own server to set it up, though, I'm sure you can google the instructions.

afaik Valve just hasn't made them available yet.

what i dont like about it is that it constantly repeats itself and most of the missions are all the same...... and you have to drive almost everywhere :(

Sorry. The image shows up on my computer, but maybe it's because it's cached locally.

I have updated the image URL. Can you see it now?

FarCry 2 is fun in small and infrequent doses. If you try to play this game from beginning to end in one sitting, it's going to feel repetitive.

I play it for only a few hours a week, and it's a visually stunning game.

I read an article of farcry2 on PCGames magazine(romanian translation).
From what I understand, farcry2 has potential but isn't much of an entertaining game.

At least, AFRICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !

Fallout 3 is indeed quite unstable.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 17:35:55 UTC in journal: #5548 Comment #53102
Actually, come to think of it, I had an ATI Driver BSOD playing fallout 3 (A very unstable game actually)

That was the first time I had added the game to steam as a non steam game, and tried running it with the game overlay.

So I stopped doing that, and haven't got that problem since. Weird.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 17:28:33 UTC in journal: #5548 Comment #53090
The only solution I've ever had to driver BSODs is a reformat. That's always balls.

I hear tons of that stuff about messing up hammer and junk, but I've never had that happen to me, not with my x1950, not with my 3850, and not with the ATI card I had previous to that. Hmm, I don't know

Hey i still have a GeForce 2 MX 400. And it's still working too!

PC gaming > console gaming in my book.

Luckily I haven't got the red ring of death yet, and I'm hoping that I'll never get it. (Although chances are that I just jinxed it and I'm going to get it within the next week)
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 09:49:13 UTC in journal: #5548 Comment #53093
I've never used anything but an Nvidia card, ever since my first GeForce 4 MX 440. I still have it, and it's working great! Never had any issues with Nvidia, and seeing as ATI messes up Hammer and junk, it makes ATI seem pretty crappy. I wouldn't ever buy an ATI card, I think. Not in the current market, anyway.

"i much prefer my PC and it runs everything my 360 does with much higher visual quality.

I just got the 360 for when mates are round."

Same. Although it's a PS3 for me and my mate with a flashed 360.

PC always remains at the top for me simply because I have better control playing, editing and doing other things at the same time.

Yes it is. But I'm too lazy to do so.

I'm still planning on getting a 3850... But I think saving up for a PCI-e motherboard is better in the long term....
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 08:25:27 UTC in journal: #5548 Comment #53099
In other news, I'm still using ancient AGP, and just got an HIS Turbo IceQ3 ATI Radeon 3850, and its running great!

Personally, I will never use Nvidia, I've used their cards before, I gave them a chance, but they screwed me over too many times.

Oh boy do i hate that "nv4_disp.dll" blue screen.
I had so many problems with it, and I can't really say that I found solutions to any of them.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 08:12:40 UTC in journal: #5548 Comment #53096
Well now I've actually got it to work again. Just had to un-do the changes. Only problem now is that every time I play a game, up comes Blue Screen with something on the lines of "nv4_disp.dll" which happens to be something about the nVidia drivers. Gonna update them soon.

Wow man, that sucks ass. Shouldn't play with expensive stuff like that unless you know you can afford to replace it.

And my second comment was stating fact: a lot of console devs do make terrible PC ports. It's not the PC's fault, it's the game dev's fault.
ANYWAY. This journal is about RROD's, not console wars.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 04:35:36 UTC in journal: #5547 Comment #52459
Saw, only reason those GTA games were "balls" for you was probably because you weren't using a gamepad, were you? It's unbelievable how much they enhanced the graphics in San Andreas.

Oh and by the way, no that's not just Penguinboy's opinion. It's only common sense that PC's have a higher potential than consoles, and there's nothing about being a PC that prevents them from playing a game the same as a console.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 02:04:48 UTC in journal: #5547 Comment #52457
Penguinboy, isn't what you just said your opinion too, and that you also need to move on?

Just a few words there ;)

I too also had the same problem with my 360 and thought that my previously 1 year only warranty had run out. Luckily, their huge number of repiars needed caused them to raise all warrants for 3 years. Hooray!

I never sent it off though. I just kinda forgot to do so.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 00:53:55 UTC in journal: #5547 Comment #52466
Console games are much more expensive.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 00:10:10 UTC in journal: #5547 Comment #52454
That's because the devs suck at making good ports, not because a console plays better. Now didn't I tell you all to stop the console debates? Everyone has their own opinion, live with it and move on.
Commented 15 years ago2009-01-07 00:04:41 UTC in journal: #5547 Comment #52463
I got my 360 for the shit PC can't play, or play as well. Such as GTA4. Any and every GTA game I've played on PC as compared to a console was balls.
With Mirror's Edge's lack of real use of weaponry and focus mainly on movement, I'm sure it has easier control too. Anything movement wise probably does with sensitivity on pressure as compared to none at all. Not even sure how Splinter Cell sold on PC.
