LOL.

"Can you make it exactly the way I want it to be? I don't have time to tell you what that is, but if you get it wrong I'll kill you!"

Yeah, pretty much what I deal with most weeks.

Not that I'm counting, but: exactly 26 hours to go before my holiday starts

I was going to say the same thing. You don't really need to configure anything. Select your engine (Source 2009 is the most stable at the moment iirc) and your game and open hammer.

Should be pretty simple.

Quitting is not really a solution to anything if you don't have something else lined up. Not a great idea considering everyone local to me pays even less.

"I'm usually up around the same time as you, Urby. Though my first alarm goes off at 6:30 and I have one more every 10 minutes until I get up at 7."

LOL! Identical to me.

I don't doubt there are people more worse off than me for free time, but I just remembered a few people asked why I sleep so little. Now you know. :P

The drive home can be a lot quicker depending on what music is playing. Usually dubstep or trance so it's a case of:
"I'm going home now. I'm not stopping. Either get out of the road or die! Thanks for listening, Urby"

But yeah, strange journal entry. I'm thinking either very tired or slightly drunk or a combination of the two.

@JeffMOD - Don't worry. I've not forgotten, I'm just unreliable. I've got to do some lines for Joebama too, as well as The Core.

Mapping can be a pain sometimes when it comes to new ideas. All I can recommend is playing other mods and getting ideas from them. If your mod is set in space then I highly recommend the chapter "Cyan" from reissues. That's what's inspiring the labs in The Core at the moment.

I'm still looking forward to this though. Goldsource has a special place in my heart. :P

Gabe: That's cute I guess. Bring me some pie. In fact, bring me all the pie.

When I went to college, I only kept in touch with 2, maybe 3 people from high school, none of them were among my "best friends."

Then once I finished college, I'd lost touch with them completely, made new friends. Since then of course, I have now lost touch with them too, save one who until recently I worked with, and have made more new friends at work.

The thing is, going from education to working life, you will lose touch with most people you have met, it's all just part of growing up. When you get into a serious relation ship you have even less time for friends.

The only person I have really maintained contact with over the years is Archie, who I met online!

This could just be me of course. The way I see it, life is all about moving forward, and leaving certain people behind is an unfortunate part of that. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Just enjoy it while it lasts.

My life IS moving on! It's moving AWAY from GoldSource mapping!!

Googled "dream meanings" and came to dreammoods.com. I rarely buy into this kinda stuff, but the one regarding leaks really hit home.

Hmmm... I wonder if there is a meaning behind seeing a leek in your dream.

Yup. "To see a leek in your dream symbolizes victory and protection"

Before anyone else thinks of it, I also looked up "spinning" which represents confusion or a sense of loosing control. So dreaming of leek spinning means you're out of control, victorious, you feel protected, but are confused by this.

Makes sense...

There are exceptions of course. If I could do level design for my own project while making money then Hell yes I would enjoy it.

Working to someone else's specification is the problem. Well, working to an idiot's specification anyway.

"The company I worked for basically wanted half-assed shit done quickly, and I just couldn't do it."

Ha. That is practically our motto.

It's also so nice when clients pay attention isn't it?

Just got of the phone to a client after explaining the integration phase and their involvement. The usual process: "Good Afternoon, my name is Andy and I'm calling from etc..."

The guy just grunted his way through the conversation not really taking an interest at all and ended the call with. "Ok. Thanks Grady."

...

Might just have to "lose" his file for a day or two.

The thing is, Shephard would be in the same boat as everyone else now. The HECU is long gone, he has no orders. Hell, just play they Citizen and Citizen 2 and pretend that you're Shephard.

Or wait for Opposing Force 2 to be released.

5.3/10
Architecture — 6
Texturing — 6.5
Ambience — 4.5
Lighting — 5.5
Gameplay — 4

Video Review:

"The maps in this pack are dated experiments."

Bottom Line:

This little map pack has some entertainment value and is a nice insight to HLife_Hotdog's progress over the years.

@Dimbark: It was my phone.

@Luke: Hair dryers are for ladies. Real men glare at their hair in the mirror until the water realises it's not wanted and buggers off.

@X-LAyer2: You're winner!

@Stojke: If you've only just realised that, you do not know me all that well. :P

@Striker: Never really cared for grammar and punctuation. Like religion and politics, they just get in the way of real life issues. Regarding being social online, I loathe Facebook, but I've always enjoyed spilling some mental onto the Interweaves by any means necessary.

@Striker again: You've almost got it spot on there. My phone is an HTC. Everything else is correct. Including the odd facial skin tone. :D

It's been a while since I saw a prefab pack. I will have to download this later and have a look.

The only issue I have with this is that detailed prefabs can be a little intensive when compiling a map with more than say 5 or 6 in it. I guess that's why prop models are more popular among the modern day goldsource mapper.
