I keep saying this, but they weren't sealed at all. One of them had what looked like RTV all around the edges, but it obviously wasn't a factory job - it was kind of sloppy, and there was a small hole at the base of the headlight that was plugged by the same stuff. The other headlight literally popped right off in my hands, and there actually was some dirt in there.
Satchmo: This IS my new car! It would have helped if the last mechanic that worked on my head hadn't installed a lifter guide backwards. I wouldn't even be dealing with this.

Saw, it DOES rightfully open up. In fact, it pops right off, suspiciously easily. Wiping down the exterior of the headlight with carb/brake cleaner helps tremendously with the finish, and it's almost crystal clear after that. It's like it eats the top coat of sun-scarred plastic right off. But for some reason, I guess the interior has a different finish on it, and instead of clearing it up it had the exact opposite effect. Seriously, I'm not going to spend half the value of the car on a new set of OEM headlights.

The vest isn't actually so bad, but you could make it blue or something so it blends in with his outfit better. I've always thought Barney looked like he dropped right out of Starship Troopers into Black Mesa. His outfit is almost too sci-fi for his role.
The scientist should definitely be left tie-less, though I disagree that the shirt looks too formal. I almost think he looks too casual and well-built considering his age, but I guess it works in a Clint Eastwood sort of way.

I could have gotten a G9, but my G5 looked like it had superior ergonomics. That or I'm just too used to the shape to let it go. You have to grab the G9 with your fingers more. I think Logitech really struck gold when they first designed this basic mouse frame that is still in use today.
By the way, I'm not exactly sure what a pinky button is. Most mice that have opposing side buttons, you don't actually press with your pinky finger, it's more like your ring finger.

Well obviously the compression would be completely different between N/A and supercharged engines, so that wouldn't work at all. You've probably got forged internals too.
I got an awful rattling noise when my lifter retainer broke. It's a pretty unusual thing to happen though.

What happened to it, specifically? Bottom end problems? Rarely is a motor completely trashed, it would have to catch on fire or be dropped two stories or something along those lines. Meh, but catastrophic failure seems typical of any forced induction engine eventually, even stock ones.
At least parts are easy to come by for those engines. You have no idea how hard it is to secure engine parts for my car, used or new. It's like the replacement and performance aftermarket completely ignored it in favor of Civics or something.

Well I made it farther than I did last time, last time the woman just aborted it halfway through because I'd already gotten two criticals. This time I was given not one, not two, but THREE chances to back up in a straight line next to the curb, and failed every time, eventually hitting the curb.

Late 90's, early 00's LS-series v8's (not LS trim level) have a common knock on startup... doubt it has anything to do with Saw's GTP or your Cavalier though. Shouldn't have said anything really.

Some GM engines of that generation knock on startup. I shouldn't tell you to not be worried, but I believe it's characteristic of some LS engines... maybe not your 3.8 though.

Well I have all the tools I need, but as I said my mom is extremely stubborn and will not allow me to work on it at home. We live in a condo with what is essentially a one-car garage, and she parks in there. Asking her to park on the street like everybody else results in a resounding "no".

Grim, kids this young aren't the ones with goals, it's their PARENTS that have goals. There's a big difference there.
In my opinion it's fine to set milestones when children are this young, it just gets disturbing when it continues on into early adulthood and the once helpful learning experiences transform into massive academic pressure.

320 MB should be plenty to run XP on, if you just do a clean install. You could also run Win2k which would be very fast.
I work on computers like this one every day at school. We clean them all up with new OS's and free apps and send 'em out to poor families. All the old W2k machines have 256MB of RAM, and they run plenty fast.
If you don't have your own computer already, good for you I guess. Me, I have two computers in my room alone, but it's kinda pointless since I just end up using my main one all the time.
