Luke: You're invited for a sleepover any time.

Jeff: You mean those used in construction sites? I'm not sure I'd be too comfortable to sleep :P

Huh? What's this? A man without shirt... running away from something meaty... and being bonked in the head with Gman's briefcase?

Yeah. I prefer none, it's less hair and less shit to clean up from the floor.

What's with 2019?

3.141592653... I don't see 2019 there.

Saw and Sajo - thanks, your words somehow feel to be already helping.

NineTnine: well... yeah, it is. But I deem a completely independent life with no social interaction completely worthless. I value company the most.

Elevators aren't such a new, rare and innovative technology that you can just dismiss as "omg n00b lol". This goes much deeper into the roots of this man's perception of the world surrounding him. It's amazing how he was unable to notice that the elevator hadn't moved at all and he was still at the ground floor. Especially because the ground floor is always different than the other floors above it.

"I think it's better to have a few close friends than to have an army of people whom you can't really trust."
I'm already at the point where I can count them with one hand.

Livewire: I guess I don't then. I socialise while at uni. That narrows it down to more cultured and educated friends.

Tetsu0: Are your friends named Barney? :P

Thanks, to all of you. I don't think my friends are selfish assholes, they just don't seem to be very interested as of late. They do have other friends which they seem to think about.

"Try new things - tone down the computer geek side of you when you're meeting new people."

I doubt I come across as a computer geek for people who don't know me, it's not like I'm talking about C++ all the time. And I tend to reserve the programming/geek jokes for fellow geeks. I'm probably just too boring.

"Try inviting that girl who called on your birthday to something you wouldn't have done before, whether it be a nightclub or a gig - something sociable and public where you can reignite the friendship and meet new people."

I've done that in the past, we've had wonderful times together. However, she seems to have lost interest. She politely declined all my offers in the past 6-8 months, and it's not like I invite her to software security conferences. She'd be the one I'd miss the most if I don't talk to her anymore.

Capt: I did wonder if TWHLers should give a flying fuck. You don't know me, after all. But thanks for caring in a "fellow forum member" way.

I do have a (sort of) new friend, someone in the way to become one, a classmate from uni. But I won't jump to conclusions early.

"Just one of those days, I guess".

The aliens would just leave out of disgust.

And as geeks, we'd be sorry that we couldn't be friends or learn anything from them.

I'm once again so happy I chose Architecture over Civil Engineering and Electronics Engineering.

Don't panic over speaking in public. You'll find it's less bad than it looks. I had to do 3 or 4 presentations throughout my 4th year - I absolutely hate speaking in public - and while the first time wasn't particularly good, I learned from others' mistakes as well so my own presentations were improving over time.

As for the rest... well, I can't say much, I chose a wussier career :P

Have fun!

Well I liked it, especially because of its simple premise. Too bad my opinion on it is only shared by a minority (1 out of 5 so far) but I guess that's what I posted this for.

As for Portal, I've never played it. I'd guess most of its attractiveness lies in the new gameplay concept of portal, and it wouldn't be much without it.

It was probably just a matter of time. Every blind capitalist running those big companies (Sony, Micro$oft, Apple, etc.) has only one policy: You're never making too much money. It's never enough. They'll squeeze every cent they can.

Thanks for the ideas. Used the vacuum cleaner already, and opened the window again after it stopped raining. It's almost dried up now, luckily.

I wouldn't turn on the heating at this time of the year just so the carpet dries up. It's hot enough without it.
