Oh, and what I meant by "source-quality" is just that its more detailed and realistic compared to the old version. Look in the vault for the 1.6 version and you'll notice an ever so slight difference ;P

Their protruding out of the wall to let the player know that theirs something wrong (despite the decals).
*I don't know how I missed that texture mess up on the desk drawer I know for a fact that it wasn't like that in earlier versions >< (I'll be fixing and reuploading tonight)
I don't particularly understand what you mean by some textures had no detail, can you explain that more please? Thanks for the comments too

"crazylikeafox use a light_environment with outdoor maps not light... just stick it halfway through the sky brush"
That may be kinda confusing.. A better way of putting it is 'Place your light_environment a little below your top sky brush.'
I'll also say that even though I havent played it, for your first map it doesn't look that bad but having it be fullbright just makes you look lazy to some people

I have to disagree that they don't give ANY hints in HL2 for their puzzles... They always build you up starting with a simple puzzle and then they make a form of that puzzle, except harder, so that you have a general idea of what to do. In the Lost Coast and Episode 1 the comments stated a bunch of times that they always try to make it so that the player doesn't feel lost, and try to introduce the player to puzzles slowly so that they don't feel overwhelmed all at once- Besides the only real issue I have with those fans is that it really didnt seem apparent that you could pull off that back cover...
Anyway of all the HL2 SP single player maps I've downloaded recently yours at least HAD some creative puzzles so don't worry about it

It works but its negative publicity! People will get in the game and go "WOW ALL IT SAYS IS GAMING PARENTS LAME", but, at least they will get the point!

Thanks for taking the time to send it to me on aim again
Right off the bat when I started I was blinded by a white mountain, that's a terrible texture! In the sewers I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do for a while...
The canals were cool but I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to fall down there to start so I ended up killing both those things and then figuring out what the real task was.
That generator warehouse place was kinda lame, its not very fun to open a door and walk into a warehouse with tons of people all of a sudden shooting at you.
In the room with the fans... It was really frusterating because I didn't know what to do... Even when I knew it was something with the fans I kept trying to press E or shoot the grav gun at the fans and finally on accident I discovered you could shoot the back off.. It'd be cool if you could give some sort of hint about that stuff.
That one hallway was preety bad... The guards were facing the other direcion just standing there seeminly doing nothing, it was easy to pick them off one by one when they didn't even see me. Talk about bland too with random doors there.
Once I unlocked the doors I had no idea where to go because I thought that those 2 doors in the warehouse were just another set of unspecial doors.
As Habboi said, I jumped when out of no where those things appeared (and not a good kinda).
For Next Time: -Make decent looking doors, those other doors were 100% unrealistic and the way they were placed made hallways seem kinda freakish. -Try to give hints to the player on what to do, I know it's probably me but it felt like I never knew what to do. -Make smoother level transitions and your good to go.

Some very nice architecture indeed! If it would have been too much bigger the rspeeds would have probably killed it lol.It was great, I thought it was very nicely detailed, but come have some more "museum" touches. OK, this is going to sound really stupid, but I went around in those 3 rooms forever (start, main, and under the bar things) and couldn't find the exit/fadeout. I even noclipped to find it (to prove how much of an idiot I was) and still didn't find it. Make these things more ovbious!

I want to make a turret thing where its a normal level and all, and then like turrets start popping out everywhere and a siren goes off for like 20 seconds and you have to hide. COOLEO!

I think I screwed up with the sound cause I didnt hear much lol... But I think it was good anyway. IMO the pictures on the walls didn't match the setting - fake packman world with real pictures? Real textures would be better but I cannot complain. It was good. Because the sounds werent right - the only time I jumped was running up those stairs with the headcrab at the top that just flew at me out of no where. 4/5

Its the most played map because it is a great map. People only call it bland because it is seen way to often. What makes it good is more its layout than anything else because anyone who maps here could make it.
Tlax you make maps as good as VALVe - if anyone doesn't rate this 5/5 they have no idea about whats a good map. There was like one or two errors that I found but nothing too bad. Getting through that one door using barney (the first one with barney) was tough, because it took me like 10 minutes to get him close enefough to go do that. And yes the laptop was very original and well scripted, just a suggestion if you ever do it again - make the laptop "self destruct", like in the Mission Impossible Movies.

Well if theres a leak anywhere for me it will run on full bright because if hlcsg (or was it hlbsp?) spots a leak it just doesn't run vis or rad... Im actually supprised it runs for you, do you use zoners tools?

Why do I get a leakfile :/ - i get a leak and its on fullbright for me... is it possible that you somehow gave me the wrong one? (not to be blamming you for everything that doesnt work for me lol) Probably not, because the name is changed to having a 1 at the end... Well could you have edited the dm_underground RMF and not the dm_underground1 rmf???

Argh, ur right im sorry. I think I somehow clicked download but didn't and just chose a random zip file. Yeah I'm liking it so far, and theres nothing like good ol encouragement, so thx alot for that. I am going to add more rooms and stuff cause it want it to be nice and big. I have to fix some lighting issues and I am going to add more details. That doesn't even include weapon and spawn placement. Would you believe I did that much before even getting the urge to test it? lol
