I've gotten into the habit of backing up my maps/mods every couple of days.

Brendanmint... no. Bad Brendanmint.

Heh, my cat brought me a dead bird about 2 weeks ago. Before that I found a mouses head on my doorstep, mini-godfather-style. I've also seen him eat a mouse whole, which is kind of disturbing with the bone crunching and all.

Don't know how this relates to your story, come to think of it.

All this is because of the top-down perspective. There's nothing wrong with the engine (more so than usual, I mean, it's Source after all).

Sad to see this go, you made a lot of progress on it.

I noticed you never mentioned it had plugin (and therefor Twister) support in there, but that was a nice feature. The collapsable interface was neat, too.

New engine additions sound very exciting. Game looks like good co-op fun, too.

If a game wants to be challenging, it should at least be consistent with it. Set you straight from the start so you know what you're in for.

For a game to be a cakewalk most of the time, then randomly dump you into hopeless situations... it just screams poor design.

Yeah, the game is pretty awfully balanced in places. I remember having a lot of trouble with the first team of NK Nano-suited soldiers, when they sneak up on you in the grave yard.

Frustrating.

Finished this a week or so ago. Not a bad game, but a little unoriginal and disappointing considering the brilliance that is Max Payne 1 & 2.

It's also pretty damn ugly in places on the 360. Wish they never cancelled the PC version. ;(

I agree with that, srry. When they were just about done with the Others and DHARMA mysteries, they should've spent some time tackling the larger mysteries, about the island, the Egyptians, things like that.

Instead, we got a [SPOILER!] terribly useless final season that could only provide a happy ending through a whimsical limbo universe they introduced last-minute. [/SPOILER!]

I kind of feel like kicking myself for realising where this would go when moving islands and time-travel became a major feature of the show. Oh well.

I'm very much 'on the fence' with this show, and it's ending particularly. There are parts that seem pretty brilliant, and parts that are just sloppy and tacky.

I don't want to spoil anything, but this was almost 100% a character ending, which is well done (except maybe the final reveal), but when they spent so long also developing the mystery and mythology, it doesn't seem right that they just dropped that side of it all. It feels like half an ending.

Ah, Jackface. I look forward to many of those in the finale. Which come to think of it, is going to take me about 5-6 damn hours to dow.. watch on TV, once I get home.

Hah, that video is brilliant, Urby.

Got me thinking about how practical it would be to set up a water trap for when that other cat comes snooping around. Not very much, unfortunately.

I have a cat that snoops around my yard and steals my own cat's food. I started having fun with it. If I see it, I stay hidden until it starts chowing down, then throw a shoe at it. Bastard jumps a mile every time.

I could never shoot a cat. :<

Uncharted 2 has to be the best adventure game I've played in a very long time. I love it.

The hardest bit is the monastery, particularly when you're stuck in the small building with enemies advancing over the bridge (before you enter the big monastery grounds).

Still, I completed the game on hard, got every SP achievement, and bought that fancy art book, I like it that much.

All your save games and profiles exist on Ubisoft servers, and you absolutely must be online to play the game. If your internet drops out you are simply booted from the server, the game and lose your progress. The service has already dropped out several times (from faults on their end) and locked thousands of people out of their own games.

It's ridiculous.

But in defence of the PC version, the console versions don't even manage to run in native 720p and are ugly as sin.

Console lose, PC win!

Basically what I think of it. The first two-thirds of the game are fun, the last third or so is rushed. Jammed full of boobs and lame attempts of bringing it all to a deep ending.

Worth it for the massive boss fights, though, I suppose.

I played/replayed a lot of older games last year and I actually had a lot more fun than I usually have playing new titles. Some older games just managed to get it right, simple mechanics and all, which usually results in the developers trying too hard to innovate future titles and buggering things up instead. I played the new Prince of Persia and absolutely hated it, then I played the classic Sands of Time and absolutely loved it.

Although there were two particularly kick-ass new games for me last year (Uncharted 2 and Arkham Asylum).

Same as Huntey, only I got fed up with it much sooner (as soon as I realised it was packed with frustrating "time-your-jump" platforming). Deleted it in under an hour.

Agree with Penguinboy, too. It's whole presentation, or lack of story-telling, comes across as being waaay too pretentious.

"Buy this! It's artsy!"
