A couple of people have been asking about where the Scotch and Coffee website had gone too and when it was coming back.

Welp, last night I finally got around to finishing a little something I've been working on and you can check it out here: SnC Homepage

It's pretty basic in terms of design and functionality, although there is a little box on the right which features some highlights from our SVN log. Actually, it's mostly Archie getting his hair off over GoldSource. Still, fun.

There is also a forum which you can sign up to if you like. :P

Wrote a few thoughts about the new CS, as well as making 4 map comparisons between the 3 CS games.

Linky.

I've taken out and dusted off my old laptop, to find out that it works surprisingly well, considering my memories of it. My current laptop is still experiencing a few problems. Several keys don't work, and two out of the three HP charger's we've got in the house don't work, which is why I'm using this computer.
The reason I stopped using this one is because I had managed to get a virus on it, which I hadn't managed to get rid of. I remember it getting BSOD's every five minutes, and being completely unable to work, although it seems to be working quite well. Before I stopped using it I backed up all my important files, and pretty much uninstalled everything apart from Hammer, Google Chrome, and things like MS Paint that came with the computer, which might be why it's working fine now.

Although 'working fine' isn't entirely correct. One of the things I remember about this computer was that it was excruciatingly slow when loading files, and that is certainly true. At the time I believed it was due to overheating or something, but looking at it now I see that I never once defragmented the hard drive. I'll be doing that now so I can see how much it changes.

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if it was worthy enough to be a journal entry or not but I'll make it brief anyway.

I do not know how long it has been, but I'm back. And hopefully, not empty handed too. But I see that most of the well-known members are still active as ever, and TWHL doesn't seem very different too. Anyway, it is good to be back.

I am currently working on a new (imo) project which may interest Source gamers/mappers, I'll be posting the first WIP shots in a few months.

And also, check this out. It made my day, hopefully it will do the same to you.

So GoldenEye: Source got updated to version 4.2 a couple days ago, and I can not believe how far along they guys at Team Goldeneye: Source have come to get to the point where they are now. Is anyone else here playing this?

So I finally assembled my brand new pc all by myself.
It's awesome! I haven't even played games yet, but everything seems to be so extremely fast. I had an intel core 2 duo before, and now I've got the best quadcore cpu (3770k) :D, it's literally 10x faster.

My specs:

i7 3770k
cooler master 212 evo
asrock extreme4
gtx 560ti
3x 4gb 1300mhz ddr3 ram
asus xonar dg
NZXT Lexa S

Boy, it was quite hard to assemble this thing, I made a few mistakes here and there, I was even such a genius as to screw the dvd rw drive in the wrong way up, so when I finally got it to work it opened up and I was like... wtf?? RAAAAGE!
But it works perfectly, got everything to work, fans, led's, even fan control, everything works nicely :)

There was a time when I was better at multiplayer FPS games, and even then I wasn't exceptional, just better than average. Now, I mostly play for fun, and from time to time. Perhaps nostalgia made me do this. I secured my copy.

NASA landed the Curiosity Rover today on mars.
Apparently google knew about it as well.

Anyway.
The landing was successful, images will be coming in as the instruments are being tested. The rover wont move for a few weeks however.

I fucked up, playtest will commence in 1 hour.

We're almost ready.
Hey guys, regarding the Counter Strike Playtest. We ran into an annoying problem where my latest models are not working on my mapping partners PC and we need to figure out if that's a problem on his or my end before we can start this.

If we cant figure this out I think we're gonna hide the models via visgroup and just play without them although that'll annoy me since some models act as cover and we need to test that.

I'll keep you posted, sorry.

Imagine if Battlefield 3 had been produced with a much lower audio budget. It might have gone something like this...

This has got to be one of the creepiest fucking ads in existence. The music goes so well with it too.

Whats particularly shocking is that this ad is meant to be serious. Its meant to make people want to eat their Ice Cream. I don't think the management viewed this ad before green lighting it.

Though it is kinda awesome.

Oh yeah, and heres a second ad of theres along the same vibe - Clicky!
