My bro
He has 7 years
He practically watched every move i made in hammer since i installed it.
I didn't teach him anything he just watched me and started mapping.
He knows how to use some entetys like prop_static , prop_physic then npc and stuff also knows how to use displacement.
He also knows how to copy/paste in hammer (f*ck) >_>
I compile maps for him because hes a big bot :D
I must say i'm really proud.
Here's his new map unfinished :lol

The Portal 2 Puzzle Maker is so easy, even a four-year-old can use it.

Now he can design an entire puzzle all by himself.

Hello! It's been a bit since I last posted a journal on here, so I'm going to try and fit some good stuff into this one. First, my new map! Currently just called "Brendanmint's Space Adventure Pt. 1", it is a small map that will probably take 5-10 minutes to completely, I made it to test out custom transparent textures, which there are a few off, and just trying to make a spaceship like environment.

There is a bit of custom voice acting, but at the moment it is quite shitty. If anyone has some free time, I need someone to record around 5 lines. I need an adult male, as it is an announcer issuing several warnings over the ships PA system. Just PM me and I'll send ya the lines in a .txt file.

In other news, July 12th-24th I'll be gone! I'm traveling with my grandmother to my home state of Pennsylvania, I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures while I'm there!

That's all folks!

The magic finger: Video Link
(and for members like DiscoStu: no, I will not be shoving down your throat 720p quality, you choose the quality :P).

This is just a little experimentation with camera movements. Done because I hadn't something else better to do( what a lie, I actually had, but at least this helped get rid of procrastination).

[EDIT] In the making:

If you wonder how I did the smooth shot around the bullet as it traveled, here's how I did it: the cameras and the bullet( a thruster) are actually attached to an invisible bar that goes along a slider.
[EDIT] Oh shit, I just realized there's a children's book with this name. I better change the title.

I'm a lucky guy. Outnumbered 50 to 1 with dancers!

There were other men around, but still outnumbered. I need to get that shirt that says I'm a husband of a belly dancer.

Brought Nahmbo home from Fort Lauderdale. It was a 4 hour drive and he and I were in the back seat. The whole way he was so nervous and I comforted him the whole way. I didn't get out at the rest stops, and never left his side so he would be alone. When we were bringing him into my apartment, he wiggled loose and ran across the complex, under a fence and into a marshy wooded area. I ran after him and jumped the fence. I found him trapped under a collapsed section of fence. I crawled in the dirt and mud in a 12 inch high space to grab him. He was stuck and I couldn't pull him out. He was licking my fingers and trusted me. There was no sign of any assistance so I used my arms, knees, and back to force the section of fence up and grabbed him. I don't know how heavy the wooden fence was, I couldn't feel it. Once he was free he leaped into my arms and I carried him home. He only scratched me once by accident when he jumped. We've been slowly getting acquainted with my apartment since yesterday. The amount of trust this cat has in me is emotionally stirring. I'm glad he's safe, despite the bruises on my arms, legs, and back, as well as several ant bites.

At least he has found a daddy, and a home.

Summer Resolution
Finish things.

So ya something clicked in my brain making me realize how many projects i start, quickly lose interest in, and abandon.

Thusly, i decided to try a new plan for me to finish things, and actually create some simple rules to follow:
1. If i commit to a project, i will NOT start any additional new projects until the first one it is finished.
2. Regardless of setbacks, design flaws or whatever, the map will be continued until it is "done", or, matches your final "vision" of the map.

projects
My first project will be to finish gb_junkworld, my entry for the gamebanana contest. (30% complete and 7 days to go :|)

Next will be be a map called de_campus, or a quick/dirty replica of my college campus.

Third map is a secret.

fourth map on the drawing board is a minigame of a popular, but old-school kids board game for CS:S. Terrorists will roll the dice and pick cards against the ct team, and whichever team wins gets guns to kill the t's.

Sooo finally, hopefully at the end of a couple months i can complete these projects and feel like i'm accomplishing something ;)

Looking back to my first couple of journal posts and wondering what possessed me to write such drivel. It's also a perfect example of why pre-pubescent children should be barred from the internet.

First day back after a weeks holiday and the second file I get is for a guy who wants "plenty of advertising banana space" on their site...

sigh

For those wondering where the LLC name journal went, I ate it. Will be back shortly.

Also, this is just grand. Get your desk ready.

For months I've been battling a virus that posed as a social network thing and has downloaded itself to my laptop. Every so often is comes back and I can't get rid of it forever. Turns out its a program from gateway that's perfectly legit, and it now that my asshole has loosened up around it. I checked it out and seems to be a nice little app for keeping tabs on my youtube, facebook, and twitter. In fact, lately I've been looking for an app exactly like this.

Commence head-desking now.

Well I tried smoking. I felt really bad, psychologically speaking, as if I violated on one of my principles... but to be honest, I knew that someday I'd have to satisfy this curiosity.

I concluded that it's nothing really special, other than having the traditional effects of a first-time smoker like feeling a bit high. I've read that nicotine actually has some of the caffeine effects, like making you feel more focused and aware(although I don't understand how that works when you're actually also inhaling carbon monoxide, which basically disrupts the hemoglobin's ability to carry oxygen).
It's more of a social thing in my perception...

I still have some questions though. How do you actually inhale the smoke? I'm confused on this apparently simple part. Do I suck the smoke in my mouth, get out the cigarette, and then inhale air? Or do I directly inhale the smoke in my lungs?

I also tried cigarettes with no filter(those that look like a cigar). Holy crap, those blasted me.

And another issue, what's so wrong with cigars(it's easy in English to confuse cigars for cigarettes, at least for me) that you must not inhale the smoke into your lungs? What's the point of smoking a cigar then?

What are the best type of cigarettes when you want something more special? I've heard about vanilla or menthol aroma ones... what about brands?

I feel weird...
[EDIT] Ah, almost forgot about this! What about effective methods of getting rid of cigarette smoke, especially on the fingers?
