in Rimrook, put your maps back up Post #84287
Hmm... Seems kinda counter-productive to reject a whole community - fair enough, you feel on top of the Hammer when you get something good - but there's no need to turn Eletist on everyone.

I found the whole thing rather funny.

I would have liked to see those maps though...

:o

But i'm sure we can arrange a swap with someone who won't mind?

Or maybe you could have a city teleported to xen ;)

Hazardous: I think its fine to use models - if they are needed.

[Please tell me if i went too far with the following:]

I think that we should have 4 BSPs (~3people per BSP)

That way, each mapper can use up more TextureMemory etc.

With 3 People Per map, we can improve on a lot more. And there's more room for creativity. The first BSP already has a Xen sky, that may limit someone from doing a desert base, or a city.

Vassy and Zombieloffe seemed ok with a xen sky, and i was too - so after i finish my map - we could start a new one - i'm sure Jahzel or Rabid Monkey won't mind setting up a levelchange after my turn?

Levelchanges should not be avoided. HL is built to have small maps.

Oh get over it... Don't start throwing bans about the place just because you feel a threat.

One question you should ask before asking for bans:

Who cares, apart from me?

Forums are frivolous by nature; you just have to accept it.

You could make an Additive texture and make the water look like its refracting.

Making it move is a different story - func_conveyor, animated texture or even func_rotating or something...

Just an idea - i'll try to put something in mapping form if i get time.

you can fake it by making each step travel up to the position of the next, and "teleport" literally back to where it came - this gives the illusion and movement of the proper thing.

Compile with a batch file, and use -estimate command line switches in your tools.

DO NOT USE -estimate from hammer - as this will overflow the output window.

Um... I don't know if this is what you mean.. but just add -game residentmesa as a command line switch to hl.exe (assuming you've liblist.gam setup)

There is no way of "checking" content btw. So you can put in anything and as long as it obeys the folder and pak structure, old versions will be overridden.

modfolder/pak0.pak
modfolder/pak1.pak < Files in here override files in pak0.pak
modfolder/models/ < Files in here will overrride files from ALL pak files.

Hope that helps.

try typing gl_polyoffset 4 at the console.. of some other number instead of 4

Sometimes decals won't appear on some brushes, try manually moving the decal entity slightly away from a wall / brush .
