I rather enjoyed that. It was very good.
It passed a man raving about how he loved the city
Frohman?

[Edit] Wait, he wasn't in City 17 when Freeman arrived, was he? Never mind.

Do you mean for single player or deathmatch? I'm pretty sure that in deathmatch the weapons respawn automatically. In single player you'll need to do some entity work. Try using a monstermaker, I don't know if you can use it to spawn entities other than monsters, but it's worth a shot.

in Map ideas for twhl dm server Post #279074
I want to make some maps, the first thing I did after the first time we played the cp map was start up Hammer and start making my own. But unfortunately a glitch or something happened recently on my PC. A lot of recently made files can only be opened or even seen using the program that created them. They can't even be seen in Windows Explorer. This seems to be the reason why maps aren't compiling. The compile tools can't access the map to compile it. And I can't send it to another computer to compile it, because I need Windows Explorer to do that. It's getting rather frustrating.

Combine teleporters can't bring you from place to place within one universe. Only from one universe to another, and that requires massive amounts of energy.
There could always be a shining utopia of a city reserved for earth's richest, with Elite guards courtesy of Breen. Being a meglomaniac, he would insist that they track down all his old buddies and put them someplace nice.
That's similar to the idea I had for my Sourcey rooms map; the idea that informants get to live in houses that belonged to the rich before the war, and they don't get beaten up for no reason by Civil Protection.

When I came home on the weekend my parents said that the computer won't boot up at all now, but they seem to have already resigned themselves to the fact that they probably can't save it, and I think they've already gotten rid of it, or are about to. They told me the only reason they wanted to save it was because of some important files on it, but I think I might actually have some copies of those. Thanks for the help anyway.

That is a really nice castle. Much more interesting than the ones I've seen around here. But then again they are mostly just ruins.
And I know that if I mapped with dev textures, I would without doubt miss some places when texturing it for real, which I would only realise after releasing the map.

I just reread my post, I didn't express myself clearly enough. If you're trying the first idea, then you can build a lans housing to give the impression a lens is there, but you can't actually build the lens if it has different properties to the main func_tankmortar.

The way to do that would to either build the lens housing in as part of the func_tankmortar.
And I think that Spitit has a movewith function (I'm not sure, I've never used it myself), so if you use that you could set a transparent brush to move with the func_tankmortar.

in Source SDK visual errors Post #278594
I think this thread goes here, as I don't think it concerns the Source engine itself, but anyway; In the SDK, when the cursor doesn't show up in the 2D views when I'm using the magnify tool, and also when I hover it over the circles at the corners of the selection box when I try to rotate a brush.
Also, nothing is showing up in the 3D view for HL2 engine games. I've tried using the atioglxx.dll and the opengl32.dll, and the 3D view works fine for Orange Box games. What could be causing either of these problems?

I've often wondered that myself, I've never tried it, but the best I can come up with is trigger a light that fades on and off, and have it so that at the point where it's brightest, it turns off and a regular light turns on at the same time. It would probable be hard to get it to look right though.

I wholeheartedly agree with Darkie on this one. Personally I think the problem with R-rated games is that children get their hands on them and then the parents blame the game stores ant the industry in general when they find out. Then some of them try to have them banned because they're 'not suitable for children'. It's particularly infuriating when it's the parents themselves that get them for the children.

I also think this law is stupid. It would be alright if upon buying the DVD they gave you the real cover slip, although it doesn't make sense why they would pass this law at all. It's not the cover that's 18's, so why pass this law? Do they think that children won't know it's 18's because it's got a bland cover? A very obvious and recognisable one?

I don't think there's a way to do what you want without editing the wad or creating a new one, but the reason behind the randomization is because it allows you to create a more varied looking surface without splitting it up and texturing each part differently.

You cant totally demean MMO's though.. I really enjoy the premise of ongoing worlds full of actual people, but I dont think a smashingly 'good' one has come out yet.
I agree with this completely. I think TES: Oblivion could have been much better if everyone was a person, so that you didn't get those terribly repetetive conversations. Although the quests would have suffered a lot, nobody's going to stand in one spot for hours so that they can be a guard in someone elses quest.
