The only time helicopters require a runway is when they are fully loaded and a takeoff from there idle position is not possible(thinking mil-8/20 series here). They do a rolling take off to gain some speed wich will convert to lift, thus generating more speed since the chopper becomes lighter, it speeds up more then and down at the end you should have enough lift to to airborne. Offcourse this doesnt always go the right way with the russion choppers.

Looks really good, though it misses something wich i cant pin point my finger down on. Though it shows a stricking resemblance with a real dam, especialy the hoover dam. Darn good mapping there!

There is a amount of units at the right bottom of the editing window. it shows in what unit grid you work. Meaning how much units one square contains. The smallest is 1 unit, the biggest 128 i believe.

agreed, the text is to grainy and has a to high contrast with the rest of the picture, if required set a black layer with a low opacity and overloy only over the text to blend it out.

Ant, i agree with you, in time when total conversion mods get released and there enough costum content is people will use it.

Look at this Jeff comic from phw comics:

When new content enters the scene new idea's sprang to life.

And boy, do i love that comic, Bliztkrieg!!

Light is a completely different matter then calculating angles and sides.

in 8x8 = 13x5 Post #150858
Done, again the tangens of both triangles arent the same, somehow the guy whom made this has absolutely no clue how to use math's. Its so frickin simple on calculating the error using the triangle of phythagoras.
Just apply it on the green and the red triangle then using then calculate the tangens on your calculator. it will show you a differance of 0.051237168

I rest my case.

What is so intruinging about it? I want it to be perfect.

Did you see the bf2 credits? At a certain point you see a lad holding a m249 saw in his hands, probably one of the modelers, im so jealous at those people that they can afford to have a real or a model version of the weapon. You can perfectionize it to the extreme's.

in Your Game Stats Post #150369
Not really a game stat, here i just landed at the outpost to drop of a cargo in the heavy weather, luckily my MIL-8T was able to drop down through the clouds, heavy winds made it a hard landing under a tilting anlge of more then 5 degree, normaly this would mean a transition to a forward flight, but the strong winds kept it in steady hover so i could drop the collective and apply some differantial break.

Kept the engines running so i could quikle get out of there and set course to the next outpost.

Im rather proud that i made a perfect landing, the realism setting to the max and the feather removed from the joystick, so i need to search for a dead center in it otherwise it would flip over. Just as in real life, actualy, flying helicopters is easier in real life then in flightsimulator. That is what a friend of my told me, he fly's the robinson R22 in real-life.
