hey guys, the last submitted map was 5 days ago...
now i was trying to upload a file (not even 1Mb) and it just went wrong!
someone who can do something about this should... well, do something
anyone else had similar experience?

made a map and it just crushes
no problems can hammer found, no vm used on it before, nothing
why do i make this topic then?...
(maybe i can get the problem award)

Edit: Fixed.
When i deleted everything and wanted to run a fully empty map it didnt work either.
When I copied everything and pasted it into a new empty map it worked.

Anyone can tell me why?

i think i saw this video... if it is the one i saw (it must be), look at it carefully, sometimes it doesnt display the episode titles and it is a video... it wasn made with one try, the guy had to record the parts seperated, and in dark places he stops recording, save game, continue recording than put it all together and it looks like it was done by the first try...

it may sound stupid but this topic is about comparing HL to HL2. Yes I know: graphics, physics, hl2 is better in these. But can you tell me something that makes you prefer hl1 to hl2? Well, I couldn't find any of those global-sized puzzles in hl2, it was just like walking through a corridor that has a door at the beginning and in the end, and I also didn't like that many of the hl1 monsters weren't used in hl2. Your opinion?

I'm making a xen map (not for the compo) and I'm using func_conveyor for that kind of water, but the texture's not scrolling (the texture is fluid1 or something and the name does not contain the charachter:!) Any ideas?

Maybe the reason for not finding leaks
Sometimes I have func_walls or other ent.s which have exactly the same properties so I make them one and the same entity to reduce entity numbers. But if the parts are far from each other it can cause a leak you cannot see beacause the parts count as one entity and the entity gets much bigger, even if the parts are in, the box's sides when you see when you select the entity can be outside the map. Hope this helps.

What about making a long HLSP by TWHL's mappers (competition winners - I recommend). Lots of maps with changelevels, one map from each mapper. Someone starts, ends the map with a changelevel, gives this to the next mapper with information (! - landmark name) and he makes the next map and so on... Than upload all to a special section and let everyone download... Do you like the idea?

I tried remaking it before.
The bad thing is what I recently discovered: I can't use the changelevels connected to that map more than once: if I enter I cannot exit, if I start on that map I can exit but cannot reenter that map again.
Neither directions work (next map / previous map).
Do you know how annoying is discovering things like that akfter 30mins of vis and rad?

I know how to make changelevel but this one make me mad.
It works ONLY if I start on that map.
If I start on a previous map and going through a changelevel which leads to that map, the cl I'm talking about doesn't work.
(I've made many successful changelevels before!)

I have a func_tt which worked well. I added a bridge above it's path and made some scripting: the scientist kills a zombie - used some aiscripteds (scientist goes, hits the zombie) and a trigger_hurt (start off) which kills the zombie after the scientist hit it (so it looks like the sci killed the zombie), all with a mm, and at the end the hurt is turned off. After all this my tracktrain went straight under the bridge but stops there and the sounds keep coming. The train with the player is not that high so the bridge can't be blocking the way, I think it's more about the scripting or the trigger, but I don't know exactly. Please help me.

(The map is a part of a long HLSP map-sequence which I'm making these days.)

You know these days I still play HL1 in single player mode, and it holds more surprises than I thought before. I never thought that HL's original mappers could make a mistake, but they did and I found it (I don't know if anyone else did too). At the start of 'Questionable Ethics' you can find first a fence with some electricity. You shoot something there, the door opens. There's another door right after this which is open. On the other side of the door (which you won't look at the first time) they forgot to 'fit' the texture. You may have to use the flashlight, it's a bit dark.
