Frankly, I drink neither.
And I'm not too sure everything's healthy in small amounts. For example brandy, or tequila, or Scotch, or urine, or vomit.

Your mind is at work all the time. Even while your body sleeps your mind creates dreams and keeps working 24/7 in order to maintain your memories and such. When we die, where does the minds mental existance go?
It ceases to exist. It does not go anywhere, it just isn't anymore. And the memories aren't aswell. Just like your HDD. If you grind, smash, or put a magnet to your HDD, the data that was there is so damaged that it ceases to exist as such. So, when you die, you just aren't. Your cells still are, and what's left of you is, but you, yourself... as a person/spirit/whatever just aren't anymore.
As the objects show no sign of slowing down, our universe will just keep on expanding forever because it will have no gravity to pull it back together again.
If that is an actual fact, then our universe IS virtually infinite. And aside from that, who's to say that that radiation or whatever is not part of the universe? In fact, I'm pretty sure none of that is scientifically proven. All of it is theories. What I do know for sure, following basic reasoning, is that there is no place in existence that contains nothing. There is no limit to space. Okay, so maybe I'm not talking about the universe, obviously I didn't know the exact definition of the word "universe". I thought it practically meant "everything", and according to some dictionaries, it does. So, I don't know if it should be called "the universe" or "space", or "the everything in existence", or what-the-hell-ever... All I know is, there are no limits to "the everything", because there's always something. The same thing is true for the concept of time. Time is infinite. In both directions. There is no beginning of time, and there will be no end. Not everything has a beginning and an end, and time has neither. I don't know about life... Life may have a beginning.... But it would be ridiculous of me to even state that it has or hasn't one, since "the everything" is everywhere and there is no area outside it, and for all I know there might have always been life somewhere in that incomprehensibly enormous "everything". The thing is, there's not much point in discussing "the everything" or time, or life (as in vitality, as in the state of being alive, not as in the time period during which a being lives... let me clarify that for anyone that wants to be a smartass about it). There are much problems that we haven't solved on our own planet, and probably much truths here, which we have yet to unearth. Isn't it just a tad ludicrous, that it is fashionable to want to know about "bending time" and "time travel", and "the space monkey truck/ship/bang/ripple theory" other entertaining theories of that kind? This Earth of ours has so many unsolved crises. There are serial killers out there, there are muggers/rapistst/people that kill you in order to steal your dough, there are hitmen, there are religious wars, hunting, global warming, there's all this bullshit and more. Why would you want to know about "teh univars" and "substance" and philosophical nonsense and whatnot? How would it change your life if you knew that, for expample, the galaxy was a purple spiral that constantly changes its course and occasionally wiggles randomly. What enlightenment would it provide you with? What effect would it have on your life?

Pink Floyd - Free Four

"The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime
You shuffle in gloom in the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die

Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long, cold rest
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or even less"

I have always wondered, what is at the centre of the universe, is it just a giant star? Or is it the Pillars of Creation or are they elsewhere?
What the hell is the universe rotating around.
1. Since the universe is infinite, it would be impossible for it to have a center.
2. The Pillars of Creation? Er... is that some religious BS?
3. What makes you think the entire universe is rotating?

The words would be pretty tough to trace back... I mean, like, someone made a word up waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back, then a person from another culture misheard it/couldn't pronounce it, so there it is in another language... Then someone took the new word, changed it to something slightly different, so it sounds better in their own language... and so on... You'd probably have to devote your entire life to it, if you want to find out where every single word came from... and you probably still wouldn't be halfway done by the end of your life. Words are words. There's not much point in discussing how they were made up, or why is this called "shuwr" and not "gwatko", or why do we "kligjer" instead of "tryclpet"-ing, etc.

Actually it's more like "That's how they've been educated".
Exactly... that's what their religion tells them. The fanatic muslim terrorists believe, that the non-believers must die.
And, about gays... Men don't give birth. It's not natural for them to engage in intercourse with their own gender. I guess, I'd agree that it's a mental disorder. I don't judge them for doing what they do, as long as I don't get to know about it, and constantly be reminded of it. Like that thing about fags having sex in a public park to show how proud they are of their sexuality. Now, that's a nice sight for the families trying to enjoy some relaxation in the park...

Religion is a pointless waste of time and a pest, that generates hate. It has never been, and never will be a good thing. I guess Buddhism could make a possible exception. There is no God, even though it may seem incomprehensible to some people. There is no heaven and no hell. When you die, you just die and that's it. You just aren't anymore.

And for those of you, who are intense believers in Christianity, I'd reccomend watching Monty Python's "Life Of Brian".

That picture looks a bit messed up... The combine soldier isn't looking in the direction the gun is pointed at, and the gun itself is not exactly pointed at the viewer, which I suppose was the initial intention. He's kind of looking one way and getting ready to shoot the other way. :) At least, that's how it looks to me. Other than that, I'd say it's ok :P

That kind of non-stop nonsense humor gets annoying in a very short amount of time. You should rather have a few well layed out jokes throughout the map. The element of surprise is of importance as well... and, as Mephs pointed out, timing is essential.

in What Made You a Mapper? Post #131436
A few years ago, when I was 13 or 14 I had just found out that it was possible to create one's own Half-Life maps using a tool called Worldcraft. So I downloaded Worldcraft just to try it out. I was so confused and wondering how to start. I opened up the texture tab, looked around there, couldn't figure out how to start. Seemed too complex for me, so I thought to hell with it. About a year or a year and a half later, I decided to give it another go. I fired up Worldcraft and searched google for: How +to +create +map +Worldcraft, or something like that, and I came across TWHL, saw the tuts, found them helpful and decided to join.

I'm downloading it now.
EDIT: Half of your map is full of half unit leaks.... you rotated parts of the floor and you somehow managed to get them off grid.... Try not to use the 1 unit grid all the time, and if you're going to rotate anything at least hold down Shift. I just started looking for leaks about 5 minutes ago and I already found 4. But there's obviously still more...
Edit #2: Well I seemed to have fixed the first section of leaks... (about a dozen)

Another good method would be to click the word 'camera' in the 3d view and from the drop-down menu select '3d flat'... press 'z' while your mouse pointer is in the 3d view and move around your map (from inside the rooms)... look for anything in black (the void) - that would be a leak. If anything black can be seen while your inside the rooms then it's a leak
