I use FF most of the time, because I had some trouble with Opera. (I should d/l a newer version anyway...) And I just pretend that IE doesn't exist. Because it shouldn't.

nice layout. It loads fast on dialup, and doesn't have too much text. Just wondering, do you know PHP? Could come in handy if you plan on doing this as a business ever. You can do lots more interactive features (shoutbox, forums, comments form...)

The last walkie-talkies I had were higher quality ones, they ran about $30/apiece, and they used cb channel 14. But I'm guessing that the coast guard wouldn't use that channel.

As far as I've heard, hl1 mapping is easier (as in less complicated) than source mapping. I would have to agree, as I cannot get the source sdk to work (unless I'm connected to the internet.)

I can't be arsed to go through the process of adding all my frontpage extensions to a html uploader.
You can't do that without special permissions on the server to install software.
Uh, write a simple site in html.
You shouldn't even be using frontpage unless you know HTML so you can fix frontpage's coding.

Fans are cheap. You said you lost 2? that'll run you probably about $10-15 total. (if you don't get the fancy lit up ones, then you'll pay about $30.) That's assuming that you'll pop the case yourself and not pay someone else to do it. What's 54c in fahrenheit? I think that any temps below 120f should be ok.

Dell sucks...
...And you're better than the rest of us. We know. Now shut up.

I would suggest the following:
  • 60gb hd minimum. The more space you have, the more you use. and hl2 is 4.5gb.
  • 1gb ram. Again, the more you have, the more you use. And more ram=better for games like hl2.
Oh, and get an lcd.

3.2ghz p4 w/ht
512 mb ram
128mb ram shared with video card (so windows has 384 mb)
dvdrom-cd r/rw
15.4" widescreen(1280x800)
80gb hd (a slow one)

I've also got a 19" crt, and soon will have a logitech wireless kb/mouse combo. I plan on adding at least another 512mb of ram and a faster hd, when I can afford it. (translation: after college.)

with tekcities.com, you get 5gb space, 10gb bandwidth, and (usually) no ads. File upload limit is 5mb, but that will probably change soon, as they are going to offer FTP soon. And no php/mysql. They also have a very active forum community, and once their forums are back online (they got hacked) i'm sure it will be back to it's usual level of activity.

and it's free.

that's probably because your mobo has a max limit for ram, and it ignores what it can't use. Or, the bios settings are f*cked.

About the static thing... If you don't want to buy a wristband, (in the us, they're like $5) leave the computer plugged in to a grounded outlet, and touch a metal part of the case, or the power supply, or something. Then UNPLUG THE COMPUTER BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING ELSE!!! That should work.

Are you talking about the data, or the drive itself? If you're talking about the drive itself, then you're dead wrong. You can just do a low-level and then a high-level format.

You cannot argue for terror...
Did I do that? If you got that out of my post, then I'm sorry, I must have been a little unclear.

Anyway, I don't mind the part of this war where bush goes and takes out an evil dictator. But although rebuilding the country seems to be a good idea, and a nice gesture, it is fairly obvious that some people don't want it to happen. Maybe I'm just not keeping up with the news enough, but it seems to me that we are not accomplishing anything at the moment. It also seems that the "war on terror" has been delayed until after the "rebuilding Iraq." Correct me if i'm wrong, but even if Bush could run for another term, he probably would not be elected. Again.

[lecture]If anything is likely to kill us, it is war of some sort. I would say that nuclear war is probably low on the list, with Mr. Bush, the "nuclear nazi". But look at the current war in Iraq. It has accomplished nothing. Oh, wait, yes it did, we killed saddam. No, we just threw him in jail. And now we are trying to rebuild. Any idiot who watches the news can clearly see that there are a lot of people in Iraq who just want us to get the fuck out of their country and let them do their thing. Now I can understand Bush's original point of view, that Saddam could have been a threat to the US, and therefore to other countries as well. (think hitler) However, the "war on terror" cannot work. As long as people have freedom, they will use that freedom in whatever way they please (for example, for unprovoked violence, or provoked violence, for that matter.) And they will fight for that freedom like the original colonists in the US did with England in the revolutionary war. What Bush is trying to do is impossible. People like him will be the end of the human race.[/lecture]

Support the troops, but not the war. And for those of you who didn't know or couldn't figure it out, I do live in the US, and will be voting for a somewhat better president at the next elections.
