People who try to convert others from Firefox to Opera or Opera to Firefox are wasting their time. Both are great browsers and it's down to personal preference. It's the IE7, IE6, and IE5 users that need to switch immediately.

It's a pretty sweet browser, but I prefer the look and feel of Opera.

Just get the cheapest, most usable laptop.
  • Longest battery life
  • Most portable or biggest screen
  • Dell still sells systems with XP, at least on their US online store
  • The Intel X3100 GPUs are more than enough for Half-Life 1
Macbook Pros are nice (6 hour battery life), but the cheapest model with the 256MB GeForce 8600GT is $2500. If you add on AppleCare and a copy of Vista, it's $3000(!). Way too much for a computer. Right now i'm saving up for either: an Asus G1S, or $1000 of parts for a desktop and an Asus EEE PC.

VALVe doesn't like to have Steam behave like other programs. You don't get the true size of any game in Windows Add/Remove Programs.

There's your problem right there. You have an old version of Norton, so you're not getting new virus definitions. If you had a newer version, you'd have basic protection, but at the cost of an uglier and slower program.

I tried to play Life's End about 5 minutes ago. but all that happened was I got an error saying something.dll couldn't be loaded and both Half-Life and Steam crashed.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I made sure to extract the pak0.pak into Steam-Half-Life-like folders before playing.

The only games you can transfer easily & legally are Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. Anyone other games, you could exploit the key reset proccess, but you'd both have to have finished the games 90 days after buying, trust each other not to scam, and hope VALVe doesn't catch on and ban both accounts.

Well, you could keep it as a container and re-texture, but make it hollow and hold ammo. Or, it could be a big futuristic control panel. With all that sweet steel space-station-ishness, dropping a big container to fill space/ vis-block is a let down. Turn it into something cool.

Crates are a pretty generic way to fill a room. I can understand having one as part of the wall, but to have one in the center, in a visibly contrasting color just draws attention to its "random-crateness."

Google's slowly shutting down their original video service since they bought Youtube.

Personally, I think the biggest change would be the basic layout. Right now, weeks-old news is at the focus of the homepage.
