in Null Post #201934
If your using Zoner's Tools, in zhlt.wad there is a texture ("NULL"). Any face that uses this texture will not be rendered in game. Its used to cut compile times and speed up performance.

For example, if you had a 6-sided cube and the player could only see one side, you would null all the other faces so they aren't rendered (since they don't need to be anyway).

What he said.

As for what is actually triggered, its a bunch of env_explos and an env_shake with a white env_fade and a trigger_loadsaved.

Well, I was going to re-enact the movie Pulp Fiction in HL for my entry, but I got lazy and now it's not going to get finished. I only got as far as editing one of the scis to look like Sam Jackson:

Patriotism: Love of country; devotion to the welfare of one's country; concern for the common good of one's political community.
You can't really be too patriotic, as long as your not under the impression that your country is superior to all others, as many Americans seem to be. That, or they just couldn't give two shits about what goes on outside their borders.

Being patriotic doesn't make you an idiot.

Being over-patriotic to the point of arrogance does.

in in the middle Post #201757
If you need it in exactly the middle, try this:

Get the brush you need the entity to be in the middle of and select it. Hit Ctrl + E to snap all 2D views to the center of the brush. Then move the entity into the middle of the brush. Center the views while selecting the brush, and do it again while selecting the entity or origin. If your 2D views don't move at all while centering on either object, it is perfectly aligned in the center.

Stands? He's not talking about stands, he's talking about crossing two pins with a wire to complete a circuit that would otherwise have to be completed by a possibly faulty power button.
I think you misunderstood him. :)

Is there a way to retrieve the password of another WinXP user account on your computer? A friend of mine felt it neccessary to create a new account, password protect it, and then promptly forget what it was. I'd like to get it off my computer.

You can get a perfect sphere by just making one in MS3D and exporting it as a MAP file, so you can use it in Hammer.

When the door_rot ladder moves to it's position, it may be intersecting with the func_ladder for a short amount of time. Not sure if this could cause your error though.

Linky
Doris Self, the world's oldest video game competitor, has passed on, dying from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Plantation, Florida on October 3, 2006.

Doris Self was the Matriarch of the video game world. She was a major star in the burgeoning video game industry, the senior member of a growing cadre of gaming celebrities who represent the modern electronic era, which, some say, has grown to nearly $35 billion in annual gross income.
Now if only all the pricks that play CS would get into fatal car accidents.

Why build a door hole peice by piece if carving does the same thing?

Just don't carve with complex brushes, or even cylinders, because of the aformentioned "cracks" in the brush. Carving isn't completely horrible and useless if you just use it wisely, contrary to alot of people's thinking.
