HLDM doesn't work like that sadly.

team DM is a server side thing and the spawn points are still random

and sadly, to develop a meta material like this that can effect ALL the visible spectrum will be near impossible for some time still

Oh and a random quote from a certain cartoon show (Can you guess which one???)

Do you have Sea lions on your surface world?...... Ya, we call 'em Land Sea Lions.
Futurama, although I don't know why you would just randomly quote that.

and While I think DX10 is going to bring some awesome things with it, I consider the hardware needed for it, Vista, and DRM(both of audio, and that shitty HD video thing where you have to have compliance all the way through), all things that will stain the future of gaming

with blender its mostly trial and error. I know i've seen a .mdl exporter somewhere for it, but i've never used it. so you'll just have to try it and adjust it depending on how it comes out

you should intermix the full rotating islands with this in harder levels, for a more mixed gameplay.

oh, and I don't know if you were already planning on doing this, but have you considdered a camera flyover of the map? like those good oldies?

there is a difference between flat and flat shaded.

flat is just the map with random colors instead of textures, which can look quite professional. Flat shaded is gray scale walls with lighting applied

Instead of judging them seprately i'd say just have 2 first places, and a 2nd and 3rd.

1 Goldsource first place and 1 source, the other two places are just the two funniest maps.

and if no HL1 map is anywhere near funny enough to even place, well, then just dump the second 1st

well, its mostly just that alot of the team hasn't worked on HS in quite a while.

my part has been very very close to being done for almost a year now.

let me just give you guys a quick checklist that I need to do to finish the last chapter

-1st mapchange (A to B)
-add enemies to map D
-add enemies in the last series of rooms
-ending sequence

and i'd be done

for general profromance get 06 and for CPU and RAM power superPi is awesome. (the speed you can do a 8 millionth place of pi run is standard)

eg, on a E6300 system with 2Gb of ram that I built under a month ago, it took one minute to do it (or close to a minute) with a slight OC

I always liked the artisticness of that movie.

although, I think the DM part of it would be very fun if you had the steam balls spawning or just droping into the main area. and have them be extremly explosive, just like in the movie
