ill check out ur map later. aparently i had to delete cs 1.6 and re-install it and aparently i had deleted the cs 1.6installer.exe and aparently to download it again it will take 3 hours

OK guys, can we drop it? I think this space is for comments on maps. Sorry, Ghetto - I shouldn't have made fun of you, but when someone said you were 8, I thought he meant that literally, not just pulling a figure out of the air. I hope you enjoy the map anyway.

Oh, man - I got told how to make maps by an 8 year old? Surely that's a sign to stop playing computer games... Not sure what the planet was - I just grabbed it from google images. If it's Tatooine that'd be AWESOME! (now I seem 8 years old).

Ghetto, me and my friends play CS, hence the CS-ness. I don't think CS necessarily has to be anything. Although the dude with the headband does look pretty cool jumping around in space! (There's reduced gravity in the map) Actually, I'm keen to sort out mod-ing, but time is not my friend. Also I realised the planet will be missing from the sky box. That was something I added later. If anyone wants the down-facing sky-box panel PM me and I can mail it to you.

i think cs is suposed to be like real life. look at all the real weapons the real stories the real places. i think if ur making a map for cs make somthing real.

Yeah. I spent hours trying to get that flock to work correctly. I just said "Screw it" because it's somethin else to look at. Most of it's just visual, i just wanted to set a theme basically.

I like it. I don't see any fullbright textures. The light tiles on the floor is part of the texture (I think)

+ Like the cave, good use of VM + Like the alterations to the room before the cave too for that matter.
- Light textures along the bottom of the wall are off center in several places. - Not a lot happening in the cave and the boid flock always seems kinda glitchy to me. - Lighting in the cave seems off. :/

You've tried to make more detailed brushwork, I'll give you that.
But it's all wrong.
Stop carving your arches!
It's a big square room full of physics crates (which lag the map like hell for the first few seconds as they all settle to the floor) with a corridor which joins the ends of the room together. Interesting.
The corridor walls are badly made, but what you've tried to do with them is a tough skill to master (at first), so a pat on the back for giving it a try. I think most mappers here will happily admit that the first time they attempted to make a corridor with curved (or merely slanted, in this case) walls go around a corner smoothly, that they failed horribly. It's something that I have only become comfortable doing myself fairly recently.
At least you have a reason for the lights being emitted now.
Keep trying.

im sorry mate but your not going to get very far posting these types of maps on this website, to be perfectly honest. im not going to say anything really harsh, although i wouldnt be surpised if someone else does. Where is the originality?
However, (from the screenshot, there's no way im dl) the texturing pretty erm, bland/not too impressive. You might say you're going for gameplay than appeal factor, but nobody really wants to look at a grass cube.
I hope this is constructive and not too destructive criticism.
One more thing, don't upload or reveal that it was your first map.

Um...If it was made entirely of glass, as you say, and it is breakable, then that would mean all brushes would be entities, making a leak...But, I don't have CS, so I can't test it... Makes me so freaking sad...

I dont see why some people complain about some members first map, cause I have one, its just I would have to reconstruct it to post it, my first map had 4 differnt rooms, but was not long, but I know that if its thier first map, then its thier first try, and I know my first try was good. I have no clue how this map looks because its 4:11AM and I want to go to bed, so ill come back sometime to see how it looks.
all u have to do is fake the wad.
for example copy and paste cs_dust wad from ur cstrike directory.
then rename the copy of the cs_dust to cs_cargo.wad and u can play
but u wont see the textures from cs_cargo tho.
but map will go.

- wery big map, if a server has like 2 min time limit the ts wont eaven get to bomb site.
- missing cs_cargo.wad
my rating is 3/5 good effort. but the map is just too big. try to make somthing cooler and smaller that ts can get to in 20-30 secs.
Which is a shame as I wanted to see this...

Make sure you got the latest version (v2) when you play.
well i fixed the textures of them 'things' in the bottom of the generals room.
i changed few rooms to make em cool.
i made holes to make it look like explosions.
i changed the bit from 2 minimaids to 1 coke 1 mini maid.
i added sounds to door.
- Still the same badly alligned brush and texture work
- FIRE DOOR textures mirrorred.
- Light texture applied to all sides of the light fixtures
- You brushboxed your map. Bad.
Work on these.

You would be suprised how many people play iceworld and copied versions, such a these. In other words, ppl do like to look at bland textures blocks.
