Maybe. Since deleting files works by 'tagging' occupied space as free, the actual info is still available, right? It just needs a proper application to recover that info.
I've googled that and there are few programs: Undelete Plus, PC Inspector File Recovery and Restoration. Though, that specific article was written a decade ago.
Edit: Darn, I haven't realised that you wrote something about a milf in there. Silly me. >:/

Thanks everyone. Your comments mean a lot. Forget what I said about all the other things in my life, I can deal with that. Losing him just kinda broke me.
We have a good community here. Seriously, thank you.

No rush, and thanks!
Slavic languages are somewhat similar to each other, and some words might even be identical, though I never really learnt other slavic languages. Only learning cyryllic could take me some time, I've got a knack for learning languages and do it fast.

I've been through that too. On several occasions had to bury my pets that died hit by a car, I'm a bit used to it, but damn it still can hurt. Hope all that shitty stuff settles down and turns out for the better for you.

I know exactly what it's like losing your beloved pet, although my last cat passed away in February due to aging (19 years old), nothing is worse than having to sign paperwork to end a pet's live like you had to do. That's the worst.
Sorry to hear that you're having a bad run in general too. I won't pry of course, but just remember that although we're not ALL closely knit friends here on TWHL, I'm sure any one of us would wish you nothing but the best and do whatever possible to help you through it.

Nice little map. The only flaws I noticed are solid "Happy fragging! Good luck" papers and the woods texture being too close to the player (I'd suggest to put it on a hill or something like that). Oh, and one more: look at the sun. And now at the shadows. It seems that your light_environment is pointing at the wrong direction. No rating because I'm sure you can fix all these problems.
Dude, you forgot to include your wad file. I don't have the textures this map uses so I had to fly around pink-checkerboard textured map and here's what I have found:
Lots of holes in the geometry (I suppose that's the reason you placed the whole map into a big skybox, never do it )
Overlapping brushes. It causes faces to overlap which looks bad.
Func_walls where they shouldn't be. You can't seal the map with entities. That's why you must use world brushes.
After applying vanilla HL textures to the cliffs I figured out that the texture scale on them is too low. it must be at least 4.000 by X and Y. It will make the cliffs look nicer and will reduce the performance impact a bit.
func_ladder must be textured with AAATRIGGER. The brush that represents ladder must be either func_wall or func_illusionary with a clip brush inside it.
Your map almost hits the limits, so you should reduce it's size a bit.
Are you sure this map is for HL? When I opened it using Counter-Strike assets I saw some of CS textures inside the temple.
Please, upload your wad texture file and read all beginner and intermediate tutorials from the tutorial section. This will help you a lot, trust me
I also suggest you to start it over instead of trying to fix this map. You can still copy-paste some parts of this one to the new map so don't worry.

=)
Never had a contest map before where could not settle on a theme, even up to the last week before the extension was up. All my ideas seemed either too much work to finish, or they really didn't reflect the original map in a logical way. Having much more inspiration than workable plans, I just said fuck it and went abstract as possible(had plans for some MAJOR func_vehicle fuckery as well).
It was very refreshing to see how very creative peeps were with their remakes, and really just incredibly fun compo

Lighting(RAD) is the most important step which dictates how you're map is gonna look, i.e., a blocky & mono-textured map, yet crisp & contrasty lighting would look better than one with baller materials & brushwork, yet fullbright. In a nutshell:

You should turn other compilers on, otherwise you map will lag as hell and without CSG you probably won't get any geometry on your map. I don't know, never tried to do so.

Yeah lighting is pretty important in art like for painting and drawing. I deleted most of my .rmf and .map files so I'll just have to put a filter on my screen shots then upload them. ty

thanks to google's 'algorithm', you can expect to see many videos similar to that, everytime you go on youtube, and it will also be in the 'recommended videos for you' list for every video you watch

My condolences.
Stay strong!
My condolences to you.
Condolences.
Huge condolences and bro hugs.
Congratulations.
I wish I typed this earlier, but I couldn't because I was lazy. :/

Take it easy, mate.
We love you, Strider.

If by "still going on" you mean "sitting on a hard drive and being largely ignored for half a year" then yes. Yes it is.
it's a shame how many servers only run dust when so many people map for cs

Also I don't think anyone uses the original compilers anymore,
you need zhlt for the NULL texture.
DO NOT skip RAD!!!
Also recommend using Sledge and VHLT Compile Tools.
Awesome! I'm going to make a preset with this setup to insert and then carve out a design.
thank you!
Nice Demonstration
I'm going to use this with a func_illusionary to make a secret room.

They look like some Cube: Sauerbraten maps.
Edit: Wrong game. I meant the first Cube. Some (if not, most) of its maps seem like they have a lack of lighting even though they have lighting.
I put a lot of time into this upload.
my models look pretty good right?
I deleted most of my .rmf and .map files
so I'll just have to put a filter on my screen shots then upload them.

Just add lights! The could be really cool maps
