To say you are going to censor the entire WWW because 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of people are using it for psychopathic purposes?

Honestly, i couldn't disagree with your logic on this more, but i feel we should opt to agree to disagree, since i don't see either of our viewpoints changing.

I can't think of one thing good that will come out of censoring/policing web content for the end user. What really scares me though are all the things i can't think of, that will be really bad.

No bad!

For the demo, are you supposed to be able to play through the edited mappack, or is that not part of the demo?

VERY nice proof of concept and pretty well done, though obviously some things could be smoother/fluid when you transition from one level change to another.

Looking forward to more sir! good work.

yup the problem was on my end! sorry!

Got to play through now, and this is a pretty innovative and nice deathrun map tho i don't play the gametype. I liked the inclusion of buttons though i don't know what they do (i noclip through, since i can't make it through the simplest deathrun map ;)

the outdoor area terrain was really nice, but might look better with some rain and a thunder and raining track to fit the dreary yet cool theme.

the indoor "portal" and "tron" areas also very nice sir, well done! =)

Perfectly fine aim_usp map, but not really much more to say besides that. Your ligting looks fine, but try experimenting with texture lights to make them look more better/realistic.

Bj explains them in-depth in his Lighting tutorial. scroll down to "textlights" on using the info_texlight entity, so you don't have to dicker with changing a lights.rad file, but the whole article is very intersting.

Nice Sir!

Very creative use of the supplied space from hotdog, something i'd never thought to do. A Star Trek Yoyager Borg theme would really make this map pop! I even think there is a 7 of 9 borg model! :P

One of the more amazing maps i've ever seen done in goldsource, period. The lighting looks so good you feel a lot of the time you are playing a source game.

Someday, i will right an small editorial on the top-10 gs homebrew maps i've ever played, and this will be in the top-5 easy.

Brushwork, texturing are wonderflly done, and the lighting as well, tho i would have liked to seen some higher contrast bright areas somewhere in the map. R_speeds are also a bit high for a MP map, but it ran smoothly for my playtest

I agree with urby the ambience(sounds) could use help. Would have loved to hear some organ music in there, tho i know that would be obviously cheezy. did you experiment with that half-life echo thingie that i can't rememeber the name of atm?

I didn't feel the scale too too mcLargely huge, it seemed to be perfect to me. I would love to read a walkthrough of how you made the map or watch a timelapse.. just awe-inspiring work sir...

kk finally installed the mod!

I played a couple maps from the mod, but i'm not even sure if they were in the map pack. I think they were 2bases,duskrena, and hdfactory.

I feel the general condtruction is really good, if not a bit blocky and not so-awe-inspiringly textured. Really, even if you jsut updated the textures that would make the maps 50% better.

I really enjoyed the general look and all the machinery in hdfactory. I'll try to play through more of the pack when i get achance. Any maps in particular you'd recommend.

Lastly, i don't really understand the gameplay. do the scinetists keep respawning or can you kill them all to move on to the next map? is ther any kind of scoring system?

Ha that was REALLY cool SpaG!

I love the thoughtful construction and detailing, and that teleportation puzzle was pretty cool too. That vault at the end is SO COOL, though i couldn't figure out how to open the door and noclipped in(i fail at puzzles). Is it the end when you activate the red button sequence, or can you escape like in metroid?

I got a little frustrated with various erroneous paths in the ducts, and ended up noclipping around a little. Also clipping is a bit sticky around some the crate areas, but i never got actually stuck, just very claustrophobic feeling -)

Great SS entry sir, and good to see you are still mapping!

We have a swear jar at work for this purpose. There is a lot of money in that jar, and it's mostly from people saying that work they have to do is "gay". =)

My boss got in trouble for using the word around his brother who is gay, and now we all suffer for our crimes =)

when we use the term, we do not mean it in disrespectful way thouhgh i know that is the way it's perceived, and no amount of explaining makes it better, except not saying it.

I played thorough what you have, and i have to say it's looking very nice! I couldn't pick up the key in the closet fsr, even noclipping.

As far as your problem, i'm not entirely sure what you want to accomplish, but i will try reading your description again when i'm less tired. A couple general tips i can think of though:

-Use MMs when ever possible rather than an entities built in delay. It gives you more control and is generally more reliable.
-make sure your MMs are set to multithreaded if you want them to work over and over again.
-check your filenames and entity values and make sure everything is correct.

I wish i could give you more detailed tips about HL trains, but i was never very good with them. you can however search the forums/mapvault/tutorials for "train" and "tracktrain" and "trigger_camera", and you're bound to find some helpful info.

good luck sir! :P

Loved your DM_Streetlevel map, i'll definitely check this out! Also, i agree with doggybag, the original mod should be included or linked to in the download.

edit: i see you added the mod link. BTW, i can't find the link to the thread, was it deleted?, also, i recomend local hoster beta for a good, free hoster which doesn not require javascript, and has no nagware.

also agan, i think you are goiing to scare people away with exe installer[/2 cents]

no more nagging i promise1 :P

Just played this again and i am blown away by the level of detail in proportion to size of the map.. tho very blocky, this one of the more original things i've seen goldsource, not to mention the of the amount of quality detail in proportion to the size of the map. great use of sounds too.

5 stars, even though it's glitchy as hell, still amzing work sir!

Lovely construction, interactiveness, ambience, and just everything worked together greatly! This is the first time i think i smiled today thinking about your map... just really great sir. This would make a great minicompo after 2012 maybs, to redo apartment or some-other map!

Superb stuff sir! cheers! :P

Superb work sir. Some really nice touches like the mines and the hidden 50 cal ;) The only thing i would say when you have lots of dead ends like that, is to at least leave some items for the player or something. Agree with archie that some rooms are basically cubes, but you had great small deatiling in many places too, like the door handles and railings and such.

Great work and superb ssanta entry! :P

Nice-big-crazy-fun map! :P

Very random maps like this always spur my imagination with new ideas, like those pools you had at the beginning.. very interesting and very strange; what the heck were they for? =)

Fun gameplay and some haunting ambience make this ssanta a real treat to play, though the combat/objective could have been more difficult imo.

One thing that was a minor distraction was how dark the level was, so it was difficult to appreciate the fancy tunnels and architecture, but still looked very neat.

The door at the end made me LOL, good job sir. =)

NOTE:
I had some missing materials, which i'll pm you some pics of. however, i also noticed missing materials in hotdog's map, so maybe it's on my end?

Cheers to another great ssanta entry sir! =)

maybe, we could give the motm moderators a weighted vote and/or veto power, so things like this can't happen in the future. =(

or

put some sort of reminder to vote for motm by your login screen or user profile, so more paeple will vote? (i know i was guilty of forgettin to vote on many motm by simply forgetting)
