So this journal wasn't meant to be a piece about a time I was cyberbullied or anything. Doing a full video review of the map of the month winner was an amazing idea, showcasing the best of what the community had to offer in a format that would entice people to visit the site. It's just Apartment was nominated, and you two did what made sense. I said in the journal that it's what I would've done had I been in your shoes (and if I was, I'd fear I would've been even more abrasive with my criticism lmao). It was more about me self reflecting and being nostalgic for my early years of trying to reach out to other humans on the internet.

I personally think that most maps are too detailed in the wrong places, even if it seems cool at first spot. Amen. That seems to be the problem with getting reviews back when you submit stuff to the Map Vault here. The best anyone can judge on their own is the texture work, brushwork, ambiance, and lighting. That's no thing to shrug off (since it's like 80% of the work on a map), the thing that makes it last is how the map plays out, which you at least need a buddy to figure out how well it holds up.
That kind of discourages me from uploading many of my map because although they're super fun to play with friends, it'll get ripped apart by the aesthetics inspection agency.
Kind of reminds me of how the produce industries throw away odd looking fruit and vegetables because they don't look marketable. `-`

This song has been stuck in my head since I've heard it. Anywhere that an instrumental version exists? I'm a sucker for this kind of cut/sampled hip-hop House of Pain/Beastie Boys stuff.

I recently found a very updated version of this map, complete with touch of layout changes and one simple addition that very much changes the flow of the map.
Not that anyone would go back after 2 years to play this again, but hey, it's something.

Turns out I'm not actually done with this map yet - what a suprise ._.
Im going to upload a new version of the map which incudes many more features that will make the map better gameplay wise, such as solving some clip brushes and adjusting a few things.
Still comment and rate, though, and if you have any suggestions (besides how boring the default HL1 textures are) I'd love to hear them ^_^

Okay, so I found a bunch of problems with the map, like it being really, really bright for some peoples and there was some funky brushwork going on. I will take the time to fix these problems, and possible improve on the map a lot in the meantime. Please do not rate the map yet, please!

Yo, this looks almost like Nuketown (from what I can tell from the screeny) I also own Blops, and wouls love to test out the map. Tho I don't own any Source games... (Not Even HL2 :S)
Also if your going for a de, but the bombsites where they do in S&D and demonition (on the the center and on in the CT's houses's garage. (The yellow one?)
Also don't forget about the climbable fences in the gardens leading to the second story windows

Yeah, I sorta pre-maturely added the map. It's supposed to have ambiance, the crates are pushable and there are random stuff like wind chimes and rig and ding. I uploaded the wrong version lol

Facility started out as a tiny competition with my friend. We had 20 minutes to make a HLDM map, and it had to be at least decent. That is where this map was born. I just added an underground section and the outside is just an excuse for light sources :P. I didn't really have high hopes for it...
Also id you hate the name CrateStorage, I could rename it FreightYard...

Yes...yes i did... I checked. The spelling is correct. I changed the sky to and from every environment I know, and everything but space and neb6 work...

I dunno... ...it started off as an apartment but grew into whatever you call this. Also about the black sky... ...it's supposed to be space, but whenever I try to compile it it switched back to black. It doesn't do this for any other sky zone...

the point of the suffocation is to prevent people from camping the back-pack of death and the outside in general, if that at all explains it...i originally decided to make acid rain or something every once and a while. Having a house in space was more random and awesome sounding, sooooo...
Also thanks for giving constructive criticism. I appreciate it.

There's only one spawn point! I tried playing this map with HPB bots, and there was nothing but spawn-frags. Add more spawns, plz Other than that, it is a cool map, but I agree with The Might Atom. The doors are annoying XD

I really need to get some standards. `-`

This does not seem right...
Except for maybe the crates, which look very out of place, but at least bots can jump on them and use them :/
...I thought it was done -_-
...maybe later :/

There is also a download there if you want it.
EDIT: All my stuff should be up by now
Edit: Damnit, there is. I cant change it anyways because the rmf was on my old hard drive, which crashed.
