You made all valid points. No big surprises for the Team! Sure, throw in some shit here and there for the "big crowd", but for the team, lets make it all cards out.. erm.

You can too make the water go any height.
func_Water works just as a func_door - it goes as far as it really is

Lets say the water is 250 units high - when triggered it will go up 250 units, leaving nothing under it.

This, however, can be changed with the nifty "Lip" value.
The lip value defines how long the water or door will not go.

So if the water is 250 units high with a lip value of 50 it will go 200 units up.
Lip can be negative - lets say the lip of this one is -100... the water will then go 350 units up.

IEMC, deathmatch would be useless since were not changing any code.

I think the HUD should be a nice socialistic red. I mean, there's already orange, blue and green in other mods (probably red too, but hey). Alternatively bright-pink.

If you can't rate at normal maps, how would any map be able to get in the showcase - as it is the high ratings that gets a map in there?

Well, I don't think "juror" would be a popular class. They'd have to go through a load of maps each day. I don't wanna be one anyway.

I agree bout the HUD-thing. It's supposed to be half-life, so em, keep it at that.
But the menu-GUI.. definately.
About custom models, why not? If you've got any to use... go for it. They can't be affecting other peoples' maps though.

Before the final compile, take all the custom textures you use and put them in a wad, then wad include that. It's the most space-saving way to do it.

Yeah, all the brushwork went out the window with hl2.. my fav part of mapping :(
And the load times.. One could go insane for less.
