bunnyhopping is all about timing.
jobabob your wrong, bhopping isnt a bug - it was put into hl2 on purpose, CS:S was designed to take out bunnyhopping, and aparrently they are removing support for surf soon too.
try bunnyhopping in hl2, you can rack up huge speeds and its been tested you can jump further than 400 units. (official record without bunnyhopping is 249 units)

CustomizeGoogle - ok, maybe not absolutely nescessary, but it disables those annoying ads for me and you can turn on google suggest and other useful stuff quickly
IEtab - lets you open an instance of IE inside a tab in firefox. this instance has the security most of the firefox features (it is beta)
ChatZilla - how else would i use IRC? it also integrates links you click to open in the window of firefox you have open and has a range of awsome smilies

hmm strange how hl2 has been made 64 bit compatible but not source sdk lol. oh well, good to know this, will put off my 64 bit upgrade for another while
not sure but it could be that you are running x64...... try googling 'source sdk and 64 bit' or something like that and see if others are having the same trouble.
the problem with macs is the upgrading issue - the same reason there aren't many laptop gamers around. you cant upgrade to a better video card etc. alot of gamers like to build their own computer from scratch - you cant do this with a mac.

i use AVG and spybot - i have no need for a firewall - no personal transactions, no reason to hack me, AVG detects viruses as they come in. in my opinion, a firewall is just an annoyance - with port forwarding and whatnot. i know some ppl swear by them, but i dont

1. they are NOT aimed at hardcore gamers. they are aimed at the 'loungeroom' gamer. the revolution has been designed to 'invite' new gamers into the platform with its simplicity etc.
2. because of this, nintendo bring their price down. they do this by reducing the overkillage of hardware. nintendo havent released any numbers (cpu speed, gfx, etc) because they feel that they are unnescessary. this is true. most people buy their consoles based on how fun it will be, or how easy to use, etc. they dont look on the net and see what the speed of the cpu is. most people who use consoles dont know what a cpu is.
3. the drop in price means that people will buy the product. if there were 3 consoles, and 2 were almost identical in design and controller and they were high in price, and one had a unique controller and was $200 cheaper, i would instantly get the cheaper one. Why? because its cheap and different.
4. people dont buy consoles for their features. if you want a DVD player, you dont go out and buy an xbox. you buy a DVD player. the revolution doesnt have all the crap attached like and xbox does. why the hell would microsoft want to let people connect a PC to a 360? they want more money.
5. microsoft and sony want nothing but money. why? an example. the xbox controller isn't compatible with the 360. only a small amount of the xbox games work on the 360. this is a marketing ploy to make more money. let alone the 360 games cost more than xbox games. the ps3 needs expensive memory cards. with the revolution, you CAN use gamecube controllers, you CAN play any nintendo game ever made on it, and their memory cards are SD cards. THESE ARE CHEAP! a PS memory card is 8 MB for about A$30 minimum. an SD card is about 512 MB for A$70.
therefore:
revolution is cheaper
revolution has better and more games (at launch at at least 2000 games)
revolution is more intuitive, is easier to use, and has better backwards compatibility.

yea....i updated you on ep 2 coming out, so i call to your attention a rather interesting counter on the minerva website. it says 'update imminent' and then the timer starts to count down. at the moment its almost exactly 14 hours. what does Adam Foster have in mind? episode 3?

i never run hammer 4 and test my map at the same time, whenever i do, when i exit and go to fix mistakes, hammer crashes out anyway, so i close it before i run game. sometimes, if i dont want to playtest the map, just look at lighting etc, i open the map in nem's source BSP viewer instead

i have a 5200 while my 6600gt is broken, plays hl2 medium settings at 800x600 fine, so i would imagine that a 5500 would be better.
put a txt file the same name of the map in the maps directory with your greeting in it
