in Re-submitting a bsp map in the map vault Post #157261
I had a little wad error in my final bsp that I submitted to the site. Do I delete my map from the vault, then submit again? Is there a way to delete the old bsp I submitted, then put the new one in?

It would be really cool to see a section containing links to good sites to download Hammer, models, prefabs, textures, etc. Maybe called mapping resources.

I didnt mean they are models in the sense of the game engine. I meant smaller scaled down versions of the original (models) Thats very cool that they are part of the skybox :)

in Mystery of the small buildings in Source Post #156169
Ever noticed that in HL2 and CS source that there are small building versions of big buildings that are in the map? (These small buildings can only be found with noclip on.) An example is Aztec in CS:S. Spectate and go under the map. There are small building models of actual buildings in the map. Does anyone know why???

in Mapping from Half-Life 1 to Source Post #155982
Is it a good idea to get more familiar with making maps in the HL1 engine before moving to source? I have only completed one map so far (de_household) and am thinking about moving to source. Is it still in Hammer? Do I just change the configurations so their directory is affiliated with Source and start mapping? (I assume lighting, and physics are different, as with textures)

Make sure you unzip all your ZHLT files to C: Valve Hammer Editortools. Then reconfigure your directories in the Build section. (Also, make sure its set for Steam)

in Making Deathwalls- Can it be done? Post #155627
I am wondering if there is a way (In hammer for cs 1.6) to make an invisible wall, where on touch you die. I would use this for a bridge level Im making. For effect, I am putting water under the bridge, but doing so will allow players to get out of the map. If I could put a "deathwall" above the water, then the map would work out great. Is this possible?
(Does de_vertigo use deathwalls? )

in PLEASE HELP! THIS IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND Post #155046
Ive read all posts, and tutorials similar to my problem, and nothing is close. I need models from cs to use in worldcraft. I use GCFscape to export the .mdl files to worldcraft. I tried getting .map files on worldcraft from existing maps (militia, assault) .map files are not displayed, so how do I get models to use in worldcraft? Worldcrafts model holding files are .ol. WALLY, or GCFscape cannot open them. How do I get to use these files on Worldcraft??

P.S. THis is my last post for awhile. Its the last thing I need for my map. Also I dont want to get banned for spamming. Please someone help me!

Is this a problem caused by Steam?

I need models from CS 1.6. I use GCF scape to view the files locked in GCF format. Worldcrafts prefabs are in ".ol " format. How do I view and import .ol format models to worldcraft for use? Is it even a matter of aquiring mdls, or do I need to change the tools options??? Im puzzled, and need help.........

in Problem incorporating custom .wad file Post #154635
I created custom textures and put them into a custom made .wad. The dimensions of the textures are divisible by 16. I add the wad in the tools texture menu. I tried both ways to add your own textures that are given in the tutorial. I get the error after I load the map: Could not open mike.wad. (Thats the name of my custom wad) Can anyone help? (btw im using the qscg, qrad, etc, not ZHLT)

in dll error persists, no way around Post #152532
Ive been having the error: cannot find proper dll file to load. I changed the game executable in the build programs to another directory. Since im making a CS map, I thought it should go to CS.exe. There is no CS.exe, only HL.exe, or hlds.exe I tried other outside compilers, but when I opened them it said cannot open, program will terminate. As this happened, a MSDOS window flashed on the screen for a second. Please I dont want to move on in map making until I get compiling down. Please help!
