Hey all. I just finished my new CSS map. It is extreamly unique to the CSS maps. It has a train that drives by and the player must avoid getting hit by it. And when it does hit you it honks its horn and the player goes FLYING. It also has a beautiful docks area where you plant the bomb. And the docks breack when the bomb explodes. It is the coolest and funniest thing when you hear the horn and you look up to see who got smacked. Tell me what you think! (Preferably in the map comments.)

First Question:
How would I add an overview map to a CSS map?

Second Question:
How do I define areas? What I mean is. Like say you are in Bombsite B. I want it to say "Bombsite B" Under the map. I saw an entity but I don't know if it would be it. It is called "game_zone_player" Would that be it?

The cops had EVERY RIGHT to shoot. They had no idea who was on the other side of that door. For all they knew it COULD have been a dangerous serial killer. So they did what any reasonable cop would do, they fired back. And it is not like the old lady's shots did no damage, she injured the cops! If you were one of the cops and you got shot from inside you would fire back. The fact that she is 92 has no relivance, because from the cops point of view they had no idea.
THERE IS NO SUCH FUCKING THING!
Yes there is so such a thing. If someone shoots in injures three cops then there is a cause to shoot back. If someone killed like 50 people and cops then that would be a reasonable kill. (Not saying the old lady did that, just an example.)

Yes it is sad that a 92 year old came to her death, but it is her fault. Anyone that blames the cops is a retard. :

I have tried three water textures. Dev and Nature. Happens to both. Could it be that it is on Fast Compile? Because I don't normal compile my maps until I am fully completed with it. (Who would? lol)

Hey, I have made some water for my map and when I look at it in-game sometimes it will be totally clear and sometimes it will be like a brownish color. I have a "water_lod_control" but it still does it. This would not be a problem, but the change in the waters appearance happens when you are a few feet infront of it! It is easilly noticable. Can anyone help? :

It still makes no difference. NO one would get mad at anybody for taking a picture. Even from google. Did you actually READ something that says taking pictures online is illegal? Or did you just make up something because taking TEXT from someone is illegal?

It doesn't have ANY problems for me. Most people are retarded and develop a problem with it by their own stupidity. If you place anything in an enclosed space, be it a PC or a 360, it can't breathe. I garuntee people did this or another stupid thing and made their own problem, then blamed it on the 360. In all the time I have had 360 there has not been ONE problem.

There is ALOT of weapons! Way more than ALOT of games. You are only saying that because you must have played it so so long.

And what are you talking about? The Mapping AND modeling is Awesome! Sure some maps are A little to plain (Dust) but alot of maps are REALLY good. (Militia, Nuke ect.) And the models are AWESOME, I don't know where you are getting this from. Expecially the v_models.

The 360 is an AWESOME Console! It is in no way Crap. I have it and It is simply amazing. Everything is good about it, it's specs, it's User-Interface, It's Xbox Live System! The only reason why I could see ANYONE calling it crap is if they don't own one for themselves.

Try connecting only the PSU with the Mobo - no case wires or anything. Then activate the power using a pencil or screwdriver or something by touching the 2 power-trigger thingies (the ones that the case power-on button go to (I really don't know the lingo)) and see if anything happens. If it lights up, it's not the mobo.

There are ALOT of reasons why A computer wont boot, It can even be as simple as plugging something in wrong. Make sure you check ALL your plugs, sometimes it is hard to find where pin 1 is and you can plug it in backwards. If power is getting to your USB ports maybe the motherboard isn't dead. If I can only remember the Interupts of the Boot system, I can see what is after the USB and that might help isolate the problem. Also note I am not a computer crazy expert so I could be wrong.

You do know using these images as textures in your own maps is illegal, right? Even if just for personal use, you don't have license to the images, unless specifically noted by the author.
Are you joking?! If it is posted online ESPECIALLY ON A TEXTURE SITE, that says "Use these textures!" I don't think you will get sued. Or even in the slightest of trouble, no one cares if you used their picture as a texture, they are not going to be like "OHOH MY GAWD DAT GUY TOTALY STOLE MY AWESOME PIC OF MY SIDEWALK!"

Fortress Forever is definitely not that impressive. I don't like ANY of the v_models except for maybe the Shotgun. TF2 definitely looks better. I have even seen some of the map for FF and again, not that impressive. The mapping in TF2 (From what I saw) Looks Awesome!

I figured it out! I can NOT beleive Interlopers left this out! It is crutial to making striders move! You do exactly what I did, except you put the info_node_air_hints right over the path_corners and in the properties of the info_node_air_hints you have to sey the type to "Strider Node" So simple! Thank you god for decompiling. :D

I read the tutorial on Interlopers on how to make a moving strider, I have done EXACTLY what it has said. I made a Strider and a path_corner and made the Striders first stop target the path_corner. I also put alot of info_node_air_hints. That is what it said. And it does not work. If someone could tell me what I am doing wrong or better yet make an example map for me, that would be awesome!

Well I don't really map for HL1, but for your first problem, don't you have to put func_buyzones to buy things? I know you do that in CS:Source. If so, just delete them.

For your second problem, I am not sure, my server is hosted by someone else, I pay monthly for it. So I can't really help you there.

For your third problem, I don't map for HL so I can't help you there either. Sorry.

Cover the ceiling with a Skybox texture instead of a Nodraw. Also make sure your light_enviornment isn't inside a wall or a model.

They have something that is related to cloaking. It is this big jacket that some how bends the light to go around you, so it looks like you are invisable. Although you are not 100% invisable, it is awesome! If it were night time out NO ONE would see you. I saw it on TV once. :nuts:
