Seeing how potatis_invalid has just launched his very own HLDM server, we thought it would be a jolly good idea to throw another Retro Tournament!

We haven't decided on a date yet, but it should be about a week before the holidays (December 10th-17th?). The winner gets £15 of Steam games as usual, and will be selected with the same kill ticket system used in our previous tournament.

[m]SUBMISSION RULES[/m]
• The map must have been submitted to the Map Vault before December 1st, 2007
• .. or the map must be among the first two HLDM maps you've submitted

Note that we're not looking for your best work here - the whole point of this is to mess about with & reflect on your first (crappy) maps. Both to have a few laughs and to see how far you've gone as a mapper since creating them. ;)

Sorry Skals, HLDM, not CS. Would gladly accept CoreXplosion_v2 or TheCore :)

Change of rules:
The must either have been submitted to the map vault before December 1st, 2007
or
be the first or second HLDM map you've submitted to the vault.

Sorry man, it's been submitted after Dec 2007, and it's not one of your first two HLDM maps. You could go for dm_arena and RPG arena though.

The download is broken for RPG Arena.
wish i made beerfort sooner. It's always a good map to have around.
The teamplay version is one my favourite maps. It's pretty ugly and the design isn't much to hang in the Christmas tree but the concept is great.

Alright, I'll reupload it though i may have to compile it again because i don't have the bsp anymore. And there's also that stupid CPU heat problem whenever i compile.

Before I dusted my Phenom II 940 that was running at up to 80c without a hiccup so as others said I wouldn't be worried about 50c. I would try changing the RAM if you have any spare lying around, or remove one stick if you're running dual channel, see if it's stable with one or the other. Or blame Valve.

If you want to keep your CPU cool during a compile (with the sacrifice of speed) you can either disable a couple of cores in the affinity tab, or if you're running Windows 7 you can limit the percentage of maximum CPU power in the Power Options.
